Comprehensive wealth management for business owners
The interplay of your business and personal finances requires a team that understands the specific needs of business owners. Our team’s mission is to guide business owners as they journey from growing and reaping the rewards of their hard work, to selling their business and making an impact on the people and causes they care about. Over the nearly two decades of helping clients manage their wealth, John's core belief is in the power of the human spirit to continuously innovate. This has been a beacon for those around him through good times and bad.
John has built a reputation for seeking out ways to expand his expertise to better serve the needs of his clients. Through this dedication he's earned the Certified Private Wealth Advisor®, Certified Portfolio Manager®, Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist®, and Certified Exit Planning Advisor® designations. All of which are leveraged to provide the highest level of family wealth management, corporate qualified plan advisory, retirement planning, and portfolio construction, and business transition/exit planning.
After graduating from San Diego State University with a B.A. in Liberal Arts and Sciences Journalism, John sought out the fast pace world of Silicon Valley startups. Nick’s journey into the world of finance began in a junior year high school economics class in his hometown of San Diego. Growing up, Nick had little exposure to the financial markets as his community didn’t often discuss these topics. The class revealed a new world of possibilities, and Nick was captivated by the principles of saving and investing, purposeful tax planning, and the possibility to move up the ladder. This newfound passion led him to set his sights on the financial capital of the world—New York City, where after winning the “most likely to work on Wall Street” senior superlative in high school, he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Fordham University.
Nick began his professional career during his time at Fordham with PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) as an intern in the Financial Markets and Real Estate group performing valuations of client balance sheet securities holdings. Opting for a live deal environment, Nick joined Kroll Bond Ratings Agency (KBRA) as a credit analyst, where he specialized in underwriting new issue esoteric asset-backed-securities, pools of cash flows secured by debt obligations for non-traditional assets such as aircraft, data centers, music royalty advances, and litigation settlements. Eager to broaden his expertise, Nick transitioned to institutional sales and trading by joining Guggenheim Partners, where he was responsible for the distribution of new issue asset-backed-securities to hedge funds, asset managers, and insurance companies in the primary market while also generating trade ideas for existing client holdings in the secondary market amongst structured credit asset classes.
Nick’s pivot to wealth management began when he returned home to the West Coast to assist in the care for his grandmother. After seeing firsthand the importance of sound financial planning for individuals and families, he is eager to bring his past, hands-on financial markets experience to the table for our clients.
