Steve advises a select group of ultra-high-net-worth clients, and strives to help them understand, map, and deploy their wealth effectively. He offers a multi-generational perspective that addresses client priorities while supporting their vision and values for future generations. Steve has extensive experience advising Section 16 officers, Private Equity/Venture Capital partners, and private business owners about the opportunities and challenges inherent in their unique circumstances. He is particularly skilled in portfolio construction and analysis, concentrated stock management, tax mitigation strategies, risk analysis, wealth transfer and long-term wealth strategy.
Analytical and thorough by nature, Steve seeks to help families enact thoughtful strategies to preserve their wealth and avoid the pitfalls that can accompany substantial success. With over 25 years of experience in financial services, Steve began his career in 1999 at Deloitte and Touche, working in the Assurance and Advisory Services division, attaining the CPA designation. In 2003, Steve joined Merrill Lynch, working most recently with their Private Banking and Investment Group as a Private Wealth Advisor.
He and his siblings also lead a charitable venture called “Team Smitty” supporting families in need on Cape Ann. Steve and his wife Dabney live in Wenham, Massachusetts, with their two children, Sydney and Zachary.
Ned began his career at UBS in 2003 and over the past 20 years he has helped clients manage their wealth throughout good times and bad. With clients, who are primarily business owners, corporate executives and industry professionals, Ned emphasizes fundamental investment management principles, asset allocation and total portfolio management with a focus on wealth creation and preservation investment strategies. He also helps them with retirement income planning, education funding, liability management, structures for charitable giving and financial planning strategies. Together with his team and the global capabilities of UBS, Ned seeks to provide his clients with best-in-class service and comprehensive wealth management solutions. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM , Senior Portfolio Manager, FINRA-registered and holds Series 7 and 66 securities licenses as well as licenses for life, accident, health insurance and annuities. Ned lives in Hingham, Massachusetts with his wife and two children. He enjoys skiing, golf and fishing in his personal time.
Will began his career in financial services in 2014 with Fidelity Investments after graduating from the College of Charleston with a major in Business Administration. He joined UBS as a Vice President in 2019. While at Fidelity, he was a financial advisor working with families in the Boston Back Bay office.
Will attended high school in Connecticut, at Westminster School. He played lacrosse, squash, and paddle tennis while attending. In his time spent outside of the office, one can find Will on his fishing boat targeting Bluefin tuna and Striped Bass. Will is a former US Coast Guard licensed captain, and spent his Summer's in college running a kids fishing camp out of Marblehead, MA. When not fishing, you can find Will out on the golf course at the local club, striving for the elusive lower handicap. In the winter months, Will spends his time in the mountains skiing, with a personal favorite of Jackson Hole. Will currently lives in Marblehead with his wife Madeline and daughter Charlotte. They also have a Golden Retriever named Tuna that is in-tow for all activities.

Jonathan “Jock” Danforth started his career in the financial services industry in 1986 at Merrill Lynch where he stayed until 2000 when he was recruited to join UBS.
Born in Buenos Aires Argentina, he grew up in Fairfield CT and in Wilmington DE, as one of five siblings. He graduated Cum Laude from Westminster School in Simsbury Connecticut and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, from Saint Lawrence University in Canton NY.
His love for geology brought him to Denver, and Alaska - above the Arctic Circle and then the open ocean on a few different ships off the East coast of the United States during his stint as a geologist.
Jock’s love for the ocean found him earning his 100-ton US Coast Guard captain’s license where he continues to enjoy time on the water in the warmer months with family and friends and doing occasional fishing charters.
Being a Captain; Jock understands risk and the art of protecting his passengers on their journey, thus, thoughtful planning and protection have been a theme for the Danforth team for 3 decades and now spanning 2 generations as his son William has been in the business for 6 years, and recently joined Danforth Wealth Management from Fidelity.
Jock currently serves on the investment committee for Old North church; he served as president of Maddie’s Anglers Club and is a former Co-chair of the Eastern Yacht Club Race Committee. He was also the President of the Marblehead/Swampscott Youth Lacrosse League. Jock's other community involvement also includes supporting the ALS therapy development Institute and being a supporter of Pete Frates’ Team Freight Train, a hero and friend of the family.
Jock is an avid skier and water sports enthusiast; he met his wife Amy in Denver and they have lived in Marblehead Massachusetts since 1990. They have two other adult children, Kate, and Maggie, and all three live in the Boston area. Will is recently married and living in Charlestown.
Will is a seasoned financial professional with over 25 years of experience working in both public and private equity capital markets where he has developed a broad understanding of fundamental analysis, corporate structure and capital formation. His time spent as a public company executive has provided him with a deep understanding of corporate finance and the importance of aligning operations with a company’s mission. Prior to joining UBS, Will worked for such firms as Fidelity Investments and Lazard and also served as the head of Investor Relations for a public company, guiding the business through accelerated periods of growth and through a transformative merger.
His experience has instilled in him a deep appreciation of wealth creation and preservation and the value of disciplined planning. Will joined The Riverside Group to leverage his experience to help clients achieve their personal and financial goals, focusing on disciplined accumulation, thoughtful planning, and creating structure and organization for the families we serve.
Will is a graduate of Harvard College and holds his Series 7 and 66 licenses. Will and his wife Lindsay live on the South shore with their three daughters, Brooke, Caroline and Whitney. Will is passionate about the outdoors and serving his community and spends as much of his free time as possible in these pursuits.
Janelle joined UBS in October of 2021 and is currently a Registered Client Service Associate. Janelle provides administrative support and helps to assist clients with their everyday needs. She graduated from The University of Massachusetts Lowell where she earned her Bachelor of Science and her MBA in Finance. Janelle enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
Marc joined UBS full time in 2023 after graduating from Bryant University with Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a Major in Finance and Minor in Communications. While there, Marc served as a student security analyst for Bryant’s student-managed investment fund, focusing on the InsurTech and FinTech sectors. In 2022, Marc completed the UBS Wealth Management Internship program gaining valuable experience to provide exceptional client service and operational support to our clients. Marc holds his Series 7 and 66 licenses.
Marc grew up in Gloucester, MA and resides in Boston's North End. In his spare time, he enjoys boating, golfing, and spending time with his family.
Jamie joined UBS in 2015 as a Client Service Associate supporting Financial Advisors primarily with HNW/UHNW/Private Equity clients. Jamie provides administrative support and guides clients through the onboarding process, monitors account transfers, and focuses on servicing clients with their daily needs. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and is an avid Syracuse Basketball fan. Jamie graduated from Bentley University and resides in Hanover, MA with her husband.
Monica is an experienced service associate, with over 20 years of experience in a variety of administrative roles servicing high net worth families and non- profit institutions. Responsibilities
Glen McDermott is the Portfolio Advisory Group’s (PAG) Senior Strategist responsible for the Mid-Atlantic and New England Regions. In this capacity, he is responsible for providing asset allocation, portfolio construction, and customized portfolio investment advice to Financial Advisors and their Ultra- High Net Worth clients. He and his team develop tailored investment solutions for sophisticated individuals, families, and institutions using the wide array of investment products and services available on UBS’ open architecture platform.
Professional history
Glen has thirty years’ experience in portfolio investing and solutions, alternative investments, and institutional research. Before joining the PAG, Glen was a Senior Analyst in the Investment Manager Analysis (IMA) team at UBS, where he analyzed and recommended complex fixed income portfolio strategies and sat on various investment committees. Prior to UBS, Glen held senior roles at various global financial institutions including Citi and Invesco. He is a published textbook author with extensive experience serving institutional and private wealth clients in the United States and Asia, with a decade of experience living and working in Hong Kong.

Todd works with ultra-high net worth families, helping them to design and implement wealth strategies that reflect their values and goals. He helps families and individuals to create multi-generational structures for managing their wealth, fulfilling their philanthropic visions, and optimizing tax effects. In addition, he reviews their trust agreements and other estate planning documents to ensure that the documents align with their planning objectives.

Before joining UBS, Todd was general counsel of Perspecta Trust. He previously was a partner in Cleveland, Waters and Bass and earlier served as president of Cambridge Trust Company of New Hampshire and a senior vice president of Cambridge Trust Company. Before that, he practiced trust and tax law with Cleveland, Waters and Bass.
Todd is the consulting editor of Private Trust Companies: A Handbook for Advisers (Globe Law and Business, forthcoming 2020). He also was a principal author of the New Hampshire Family Trust Company Act (which govern private trust companies) and the New Hampshire Foundation Act (which was the first act recognizing civil law-type foundations in the US).
