Thad began his career in the financial services industry at Morgan Stanley in 2001. He moved to Merrill Lynch in 2003 and joined UBS in 2015. As a co-founder of The Eckerle Metzinger Group, Thad is one of the team’s lead wealth managers and is responsible for a variety of functions including investment management, income management and retirement planning strategies and analysis. He also serves as one of the team’s relationship managers.
For corporate employees approaching or already in retirement, Thad helps them prepare for and maintain a comfortable life after work. Using sophisticated retirement outcome tools, Thad can evaluate the likelihood, under various market scenarios, of achieving clients’ goals and desired lifestyle, and demonstrate the impact that those goals might have on their future wealth.

As a qualified Senior Portfolio Manager who, in addition to providing traditional advice and guidance, Thad can help clients pursue their objectives by building and managing his own personalized or defined strategies, which may incorporate individual stocks and bonds, model portfolios, and third-party investment strategies. When servicing clients through the firm’s Portfolio Management Program, a Portfolio Manager may manage his strategies on a discretionary basis.
Thad is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM (CFP®) certificant, a designation awarded by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. He also holds the Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®) designation. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Active in his community, Thad makes his home in Carmel, Indiana, with his wife, Sara, and son, Luke. He is a third degree Knight of Columbus with the St. Luke’s Indianapolis Council. His hobbies include running, soccer, hiking and traveling, and rooting for the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers and all of the University of Colorado sports teams.

Creating a strategy is a disciplined process that requires perspective, constant oversight and reviews.

Residing in Carmel, Indiana, with his wife, Sarah, and two sons, Seth and Justin, Scott enjoys running, the outdoors and coaching youth sports. He is an avid college baseball fan and enjoys exploring the deep history of the bourbon industry.
