Rick knows that what he does for a living is important. Clients need financial guidance, empathy and the kind of wisdom one often reserves for close friends and family. That’s why Rick sees it as his duty to keep clients on track to achieve life goals, whether it’s college education for children and grandchildren, creation of wealth to live a comfortable and productive lifestyle, funding retirement, establishing a multigenerational legacy for family or sharing one’s wealth to help others. Rick’s job is to help clients turn these dreams into reality.
That takes a disciplined investment process that is uniquely tailored to each client’s needs. Rick prides himself for urging clients to be patient, and not to succumb to emotions when markets are volatile. Advocating an approach based on diversification and asset allocation, Rick likes to remind clients that successful investing is a marathon, not a sprint.
Rick’s vision for Stone Harbor Group is to serve the complex needs of successful individuals and their families. With the help of Rick’s leadership and ongoing mentorship, the multigenerational team provides an integrated approach to wealth planning, a disciplined investment process and personal service.
Doug considers himself lucky to feel inspired to get up and go to work each morning. That’s because he works with educated, successful clients who understand the importance of financial planning. No two clients are alike, which makes Doug’s job even more interesting. The needs of an executive and their family are different from the needs of a business owner who is ready to plan an exit strategy.
With years of experience in the financial industry, plus his training as a Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) and Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC™), add to his credentials as a Financial Advisor. Doug helps his clients identify, save and plan for their long-term goals—and just as importantly—stay the course when markets fluctuate. In addition, clients can tap into the extensive resources of UBS, including global market research, borrowing and asset protection solutions.
Doug loves the continuity aspect of helping all his clients manage their short-term cash flow needs and plan for lifetime goals such as their children’s education, purchasing homes and retirement. He also enjoys helping clients leave a legacy for their multigenerational families and their charitable endeavors.
Exit Planning is a specialized field Doug is passionate about. Business owners spend years building and growing a successful company. However, little to no time is spent on what they want personally outside of being a business owner. Doug works closely with business clients to help them align their business and personal goals. This includes determining which exit option may be best while taking into consideration tax minimization strategies and identifying which key professionals they might need to consult with for a successful exit.
