Ken began his career with the UBS Seattle office in 1986 (formerly PaineWebber). Ken has led a team of partners for over twenty years in the field of Special Needs Trusts management, having been mentored in the early years by several of the leading attorneys whom pioneered this field on both coasts. Ken has had a successful long term career at UBS having helped manage client portfolios through 4 business cycles. Currently manages nearly 300 million in client assets including over 100 Special Needs Trusts (both litigation and testamentary), guardianships, conservatorships, benefits eligibility, etc... Able to provide referral network for legal assistance and trust development through attorneys in this field.
Ken earned a Bachelor's of Arts at California State University Northridge in 1974; was an Eagle Scout at age 13 (Community service project working with Special Needs Scout Troop); has past experience as an entrepreneur in developing businesses in four states. Hobbies include flying vintage aircraft at Boeing Field in Seattle.

Shawn began his career at UBS in 2000 (formerly PaineWebber) and joined the Special Needs Trust group with Ken Horwitz’s team after having had Ken handle his own Special Needs Trust since 1994. Shawn is a C4-C5 quadriplegic after a swimming pool accident. Shawn graduated from Eastern Washington University with a double major in finance and economics. His work in the office has been extremely helpful in researching further into the entitlement systems. Shawn helps clients and potential clients navigate their lives with a disability by counseling them from personal experience on structuring and understanding their future housing, medical and social opportunities available to them.
Shawn enjoys his season tickets to the Mariner's and Seahawks, traveling around the world, spending time with family and friends and all the cultural aspects the city of Seattle has to offer. Shawn is a Board member of the Brain Injury Association of Washington and works extensively with attorneys in Seattle and around the state. In addition, he supports Washington State Association of Justice (formerly WSTLA) in several capacities.

Diane began her career in the financial industry in 1980 with a regional firm in the northwest. She held many positions there, including client service associate, various operation positions as well as operations manager. Diane has her series 7, 63 and 65. Diane joined Ken Horwitz at UBS (formerly PaineWebber) in 1989 to help build a gratifying and rewarding career in Special Needs Trusts. Diane is dedicated to providing beneficiaries and their families with the support and consideration they deserve. Through her own experiences, she brings knowledge, understanding and solutions to families in need of guidance. She will do her utmost to meet whatever a client's needs may be, not only with investments, also assist special needs clients with their unique needs.
Diane was born in Seattle and currently resides in Medina with her husband, Robbins and daughter, Alexandra. She enjoys spending her time at the family farm with her family, hiking, fishing and gardening.

Beth joined UBS in 1997 working for the operations group. Two years later she joined the Horwitz & Meneely team where she continues to be an important part of the financial advisory team. Beth's primary focus is in providing excellent customer service to her financial advisors and their clients. With excellent interpersonal relations, Beth assists you with your needs and communicates in a way that is simple to understand. Beth is passionate about assisting clients and their loved ones through difficult times. Her goal is to alleviate your stress by helping to solve your needs, from the simplest to the most complex and multifaceted matters. Beth will put you at ease, knowing your financial needs are in caring hands.
Beth is a graduate of Washington State University with a BA in Humanities and a minor in English. After college she has focused her career in client services. Beth lives in Issaquah, WA with her husband Chris and daughter Brookelyn. Beth spends her time away from work with family and enjoys attending her daughter's sports and academic events. She also likes gourmet dinners with friends and exploring the beautiful Northwest.
