Bill is the senior member and founder of The Schoff Group at UBS, a team of twelve professionals who together manage nearly $3 billion in assets. He has over 30 years of experience advising corporations on their equity benefit plans and their senior executives on wealth management. Bill concentrates his efforts in guiding executives, entrepreneurs and affluent families with advanced planning and private wealth management.
The Schoff Group is nationally recognized for assisting an exclusive group of Fortune 500 companies with their equity benefit plans including stock option and restricted stock plans, financial wellness, 10b5-1 plans and 144 transactions and helping to guide their executives with Important wealth planning decisions. The team can also act as an Institutional Consultant consulting with 401k plans, pensions, Taft Hartley union pensions and not for profit funds.
Bill holds a BS degree from Cortland State University and is a member of the National Association of Stock Plan Professionals. Bill lives in Victor, NY and is active in several community and philanthropic organizations.
Katie has over 30 years of experience in wealth management services. She joined UBS in 2009 after 13 years at Smith Barney and prior tenure at Prudential Securities. As a Senior Vice President and Corporate Stock Benefit Consultant, Katie specializes in equity administration solutions and private wealth management for individuals and families.
Katie has used her problem solving skillset and detail oriented nature to help clients manage the complexities of their financial lives to achieve financial wellness for them and future generations. With an emphasis on personalized solutions Katie leads with listening and understanding what is crucial to her clients piece of mind. Her comprehensive service model and planning strategy has helped her clients manage their wealth in both difficult and prosperous markets.
As a Stock Benefit Consultant, Katie uses a comprehensive platform of industry-leading corporate equity compensation services and solutions- she is well positioned to help your organization simplify and improve the administration of your equity compensation offering as well as enhance the participant experience through education and access to advice. Katie has a long history of working with global issuers and extensive expertise in Section 16 transactions, rule 144 and 10b5-1 trading plans.
Katie participates in prestigious industry programs, such as The National Association of Stock Plan Professionals(NASPP) and holds a Level 1 Certified Equity Professional designation. She is Series 7, 31, 63 and 65 licensed.
Because she believes in giving back, she serves her community in various volunteer capacities. Her life-long passion for soccer is shared as she enters her 30th year as a youth soccer coach where she teaches kids the game and provides lessons in problem solving.
Katie earned her B.A. from Niagara University where she met her husband, Bill. They reside in Webster, NY. Her interests include travel, fitness, skiing, pickle and paddle ball.
Steve is a Vice President of Wealth Management and Portfolio Manager. His career has been focused on creating and delivering comprehensive financial solutions that are tailored to high net worth clients. Steve takes a holistic approach in constructing portfolios and is committed to having each portfolio reflect the needs of his clients, whether it’s insurance, philanthropy, retirement or succession planning. Steve is driven by his passion and goal to help individuals and families achieve financial success and he has structured his practice to include a focus on mentoring the next generation of Financial Advisors as well as the generations of clients .

Barbara joined UBS Financial Services in 2009 and has over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. While Barbara focuses on all aspects of wealth management, she specializes in retirement planning, wealth transfer strategies, including inheritance and insurance planning as well as transition planning in the areas of marriage, divorce, and loss of a loved one. Alongside her clients, Barbara constructs, monitors and adjusts, as necessary, a detailed financial plan that acts as a roadmap for success in achieving what is most important to them.
Barbara's personal interests include hiking, bike riding and camping. Barbara has made her home in Fairport, NY where she raised her two children and currently resides with her husband, Joel, and their 2 golden retrievers.
Bryan has extensive experience working with high net worth individuals, corporate executives and their families, helping organize, manage, and coordinate all aspects of their financial lives. Building and maintaining a comprehensive financial plan to act as the blueprint for making all important decisions is critical to Bryan's relationships. Through Bryan's personalized approach, he builds and manages investment allocations, creating portfolios that match each client's unique goals and objectives.
Bryan holds the Portfolio Manager designation and in his role, oversees the team's discretionary portfolio and investment management process. Bryan is series 7, and 66 licensed. After spending several years at Merrill Lynch in New York, NY, Bryan relocated to Rochester and joined The Schoff Group in 2014 . He earned his B.B.A. in Business Management from St. Bonaventure University.
Bryan lives in Pittsford NY with his wife and two daughters. Outside of work, he enjoys playing golf, fishing and skiing.
In his role, Alex has been assisting individuals meet their financial goals for over 12 years now. Observing his father's passion for his career from an early age, he made the decision to attend Niagara University and pursue a career in wealth management. Alex graduated from Niagara University in 2007 with a B.S. in Commerce.
He started his career in Finance at AXA Advisors, in New York City, helping his colleagues and their clients in the areas of investment management, retirement planning, estate and succession planning. He transitioned to Merrill Lynch in 2011 where he began to help high net worth families build out a holistic financial plans to help them meet their goals. After spending 4 years at ML, Alex moved back to Rochester, NY in 2015 to continue his passion of helping others but also be closer to family and friends. Upon relocating from NYC, he settled into a new role at Fidelity Investments as an Investment Consultant.
After officially joining The Schoff Group at UBS in 2017, Alex has channeled his problem-solving skillset and knowledge of financial markets to help his clients alleviate concerns over the many moving parts of their financial lives. Alex has found a permanent home at UBS and place where he can better assist his clients for the remainder of his career. The Schoff Group assists corporate executives and high net worth families as they navigate the sometimes complicated world of equity compensation awards and holistic financial planning. As a Corporate Stock Benefit Consultant, his in-depth knowledge allows him to maximize the value of his client's equity compensation through risk management of concentrated positions and tax minimization strategies.
Alex has also completed the requirements to achieve the credential of a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor. Outside of work he has a passion for traveling, golf, exercise, cooking and spending time with family.
Josh joined UBS and The Schoff Group in 2014. After earning his CFP® designation March of 2017 Josh has dedicated himself to delivering comprehensive Advanced Financial Planning. He believes maintaining a Financial Plan is the foundation on which financial wellness is built. Josh works with each client to constructs a customized plan which clearly defines their goals and objectives. This process results in a deep understanding of what is truly important to each client. Using this approach, Josh is then able to develop a unique investment plan that is tailored to each clients specific needs.
Josh earned his B.S. in Corporate Finance from St. John Fisher College. While earning his degree, Josh was able to pursue his passion of soccer in his role as captain on the Men's Soccer Team. Josh lives with his wife in Fairport, NY. He enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and an active lifestyle.
Krista joined The Schoff Group at UBS in November 2012 after working in the Operations department in the Rochester, NY office of UBS. Krista oversees the client onboarding process and is involved in many of the team's operational duties. She specializes in servicing an variety of accounts including trust accounts, lending accounts and donor advised funds. Her main focus is to provide a personalized experience to all clients.
In 2009, Krista graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. She resides in Farmington, NY with her husband Scott and 2 daughters. In her time away from the office, Krista enjoys spin classes, baking, and reading.
Samantha is a recent addition to UBS Financial Services and The Schoff Group. She joined in Fall 2021 as a Vice President and Institutional Consultant, and brings 8 years of experience in the Financial Services Industry. The first 6 years of her career were spent at Manning & Napier Advisors as a Relationship Manager for both leveraged distribution and direct sales. Most recently she spent 2 years at Graystone Consulting, a division of Morgan Stanley, focusing on Institutional clients within the Taft-Hartley construction trades.
At UBS, Samantha will work to deliver a personalized investment consulting experience for Institutional Clients, and use the same sophisticated institutional approach to serve high net worth individuals and families. This means working in partnership with clients to gain a deep understanding of their unique needs and connecting them with the extensive resources of the firm to implement a truly holistic investment management solution. Her experience with multi-employer plans, endowments and foundations, and ultra-high net worth generational wealth planning means she is well-equipped to provide the high-caliber service all UBS clients expect.
Samantha holds her Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 licenses. She graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in Communication Studies and English Literature from St. John Fisher College. Originally from Jamestown, NY she now lives in Fairport with her husband Rob and two children, William and Norah. Their free time is spent at their house on Cuba Lake, growing Rob’s screen-printing business, attending their children’s baseball games or dance recitals, and watching the latest buzz-worthy streaming TV series. Her educational background means she loves giving television, podcast, and book recommendations!
Michael Valenti is an Executive Director, Senior Institutional Consultant, and Senior Vice President at UBS Financial Services. Joining The Schoff Group in the Fall of 2021, he brings with him more than 20 years of investment experience most recently as a Senior Vice President and Institutional Consultant at Graystone Consulting, a division of Morgan Stanley. Prior to joining Graystone, Mike spent 15 years at Manning & Napier Advisors managing a $1.7bn franchise of both ultra-high net worth individuals and institutional clients, including endowments and foundations, Taft-Hartley DB and DC plans, religious organizations, municipal plans, and corporate or family office 401k and profit-sharing plans. He began his career in Institutional Equity Sales at Lehman Brothers in New York City.
Michael brings his extensive experience to bear to develop tailored and adaptable investment solutions for sophisticated clients. He employs a cash-flow and liability-based consulting approach, with a particular expertise in multi-employer Taft-Hartley benefit plans. Michael is relationship-focused, working to attain a true and long-lasting partnership with clients.
Michael graduated cum laude from Williams College, and is Series 63, 65, and 7 licensed. Michael grew up in Pittsford, NY and married his high-school sweetheart Carolyn. Michael and Carolyn live in Pittsford and have two children: their son Avery is an all-around athlete, playing lacrosse, football, soccer, and basketball, and their daughter Mairyn loves competitive cheerleading, gymnastics, and horseback riding. Michael and Carolyn spend most of their free time attending their children’s sporting events and loving every minute of it! Michael loves connecting with clients on the golf course, although his golf advice doesn’t technically fall under the “fiduciary” umbrella.
Emily joined The Schoff Group at UBS in December 2021 as a Client Associate after completing an internship with the team earlier that year. In her role, Emily is directly involved with the operational and service aspects of the team. Emily is a skilled multi-tasker with a focus on attention to detail as she provides efficient and personalized support for our clients. In addition to being registered, Emily recently received her MBA from John Carroll University in May of 2022.
Emily resides in Rochester, NY and in her free time, enjoys exercising, traveling, and skiing.
Kevin brings over a decade of industry experience to The Schoff Group. His professional journey includes a 5-year tenure at UBS as a Wealth Planning Associate, followed by 3 years at a Fintech start-up where he spearheaded the expansion of the company's financial planning and investment offerings.
Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from West Virginia University. He went on to achieve the CFP® certification, a component that aids in delivering comprehensive wealth management solutions to our clients. He collaborates closely with clients, contributing in advanced planning strategies, investment analysis, and portfolio construction.
In his current role, Kevin is responsible for leading the team's investment operations, with a keen focus on capital markets, market trends, asset allocation, and portfolio design.
