While at the Southern Company, he worked hands on with UBS (then Paine Webber) and individuals on how to invest in 401Ks and when to exercise stock options, and became passionate about working with individuals from a Wealth Management standpoint. His main goal is to ensure his clients understand that their money is working toward their individual financial goals. Richard holds his Series 7, 66, and Health and Life Insurance Licenses and is registered as an agent in 30 states. He is also a Certified Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS), Retirement Plan Consultant, and is one of only 500 advisors at UBS who have achieved the title of Wealth Advisor.

Richard graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. He has called Durham home since 2004, joining an extended family (a total of 19 individuals living within a 6 square mile area!) who have established roots in the community. Richard is married to Debbie, and they have four sons; Richard, Charlie, Jack, and Henry. His hobbies include attending his sons' sporting events, biking, and he is an avid reader.
