Mark Richard French

Senior Vice President–Wealth Management

Mark began his financial services career over 30 years ago, on “Black Monday”. He was a junior trader of options and futures with Barclays Bank (BZW), based at the London Stock Exchange, Over time he helped to hedge the Barclays overnight trading book via futures in Chicago. He has helped cities and small financial institutions invest their excess liquidity and worked in various advisory capacities for a hedge fund in California. Mark joined the Charleston, SC office of UBS in 2015 as a Senior Vice President—Wealth Management.

While Mark married his wife, Georgia, in 1990, it wasn't until 1997 that he became her business partner. Mark's responsibilities on the team include monitoring the markets, researching investment options and addressing clients' questions that arise in between scheduled review meetings. Mark has also been a market commentator on local Charleston radio and television since 1999.

In his spare time he enjoys boating, fishing, tennis and spending time with his and Georgia's two children, Gabrielle and Liam.
