A confident financial future
As a Senior Portfolio Manager, Paul oversees several customized equity, exchange traded funds, and institutional mutual fund models. He also has extensive experience in selecting and monitoring top institutional money managers, hedge funds and private equity funds for clients.
From an early age Paul had an interest in the financial markets and has been fortunate enough to turn that interest into a more than 30-year career with UBS. His experience with multiple generations of clients has taught him that a solid financial plan is crucial in helping guide them through both turbulent and prosperous market cycles.
A cornerstone of Paul’s practice is holistic wealth management—creating appropriate strategies in all areas of his clients’ financial lives to help them navigate constantly changing financial environments and life events. Helping clients feel confident about their future is what motivates Paul every day.
Outside UBS
Paul and his wife, Karen, have been married since 1983. They have three grown children; Stefani, Steven and Bryan. Stefani works for Oxford University Press and is married to Dr. Jay Berdia. Bryan works for a start-up company in New York City. Unfortunately Steven suffers from a rare life threatening genetic disorder called Familial Dysautonomia (FD) and lives at home with Paul and Karen. Paul has served on the board of directors of the Familial Dysautonomia Foundation since 1991. The foundation is a nonprofit organization supporting the best possible medical care and scientific research for the benefit of people afflicted with FD.
In addition to spending time with his family, Paul enjoys golfing and going to the beach.

Careful planning, thoughtful investing
Matt’s practice is based on financial planning, which means he makes it a point to understand the goals, needs and dreams of his clients, in order to help fulfill their aspirations. Having experienced the volatility of the 1990s, the tech bubble of 2000 and the financial crash of 2008, he takes a cautious view of investment management that his clients value. This is why it’s all the more rewarding for him to see long-term clients and their families enjoy the benefits of careful planning and thoughtful investing.
The value of communication
He began his career in financial services in 1995 and joined UBS in 2008. At Legacy Wealth Management, he and his team create a level of personalized service that feels like that of a boutique firm, but still delivers the full resources of one of the world’s largest banks. The key is ongoing and open communication between the team and their clients, which helps everyone stay focused on successfully meeting long-term goals.
Outside UBS
Matt and his wife, Nikki, have been married 20 years and live in Dix Hills, New York. They have two children, Justin and Brandon. Matt and his family are actively involved in charitable work with the Lustgarten Foundation, the Power of Pink Foundation, and Autism Speaks. Matt is passionate about spending time with his family, traveling around the world, and enjoying each and every day.
