Michael specializes in developing and implementing customized retirement plans for individuals and families. Everyone's situation is unique and requires a unique plan. As a Certified Financial Planner, he has many years of experience helping clients successfully achieve their retirement and financial goals. Michael began his career as a financial advisor in 1996 with Dean Witter Morgan Stanley, and joined UBS in 2019. Michael focuses on developing customized wealth management strategies, including risk management, insurance planning, and estate planning services. Through his knowledge of technical and quantitative analysis coupled with UBS’s research, he develops customized asset allocations and re-balancing strategies for clients. Michael earned a degree in Finance from the California State University, San Bernardino.
As Branch Manager and Senior Vice President, Wealth Management, Scott Morris draws on decades of experience leading clients and Financial Advisors, having witnessed multiple markets and presidential cycles as a Financial Advisor, and over a decade as Branch Manager at UBS. Scott works with clients to put together customized plans that address their longevity, retirement, legacy, income planning, and other unique needs.
As a branch manager, he ensures day-to-day operations at UBS offices in Riverside and Redlands and works with advisors to ensure clients receive personal service. He encourages involvement in the local communities; his branches have sponsored Riverside Community Health Foundation, Riverside Chamber of Commerce, Redlands Kiwanis Club, Redlands Boys and Girls Club, National CORE, Feeding America, Family Service Association of Redlands and others.
He currently holds series 3, 7, 9, 10, 66 registrations, California Insurance license, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC) and Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) designations.
Scott has had a life long interest in financial services and the ability to help people achieve their financial goals. He is committed to providing insightful guidance and advice based on the unique priorities of the families he serves.
Scott has volunteered with the Little League, Val Verde School for the Performing Arts, Boy Scouts of America, US Navy Sea Cadets and is a member of the Order of the Elks. He was born and raised in Rancho Cucamonga, where he continues to reside with his wife and two children. Scott and his wife enjoy travelling, cooking, entertaining, exercising, and trying new restaurants and foods.
As Senior Vice President-Wealth Management, Sue has her Series 7, 8, 63 & 65 licenses and she is CA insurance licensed. She has her BS in Finance from the Univ. of AL & began her career at Compass Bank in Birmingham. In 1987 she moved to CA & joined PaineWebber where she has been a Financial Advisor & Branch Manager. Sue continues to serve her clients as an advisor on both a business and personal level. Sue enjoys cooking, gardening, reading, and travel.
Michael became a Financial Advisor in 1998, following a successful senior management career spanning 20 years at Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, and US Steel. His extensive corporate background provides a perspective on professional, business owner, and retirement wealth planning needs. As a Vice President–Investments at UBS, he is Series 7, 63, 65 and has his CA Insurance license. Michael earned a M.B.A. at the University of Alabama and a M.ED. and B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh. Past and present community activities include Rotary, arts, and local charities in the Corona-Riverside area.
Veronica oversees the client administration for The Kira/Kira/Morris & Bates Wealth Management. Veronica has 25 years of experience in the financial industry, she worked at Smith Barney for 12 years and has been with UBS for 13 years. Veronica has been a resident of Riverside for 10 years. Veronica has a family, she has been blissfully married to her husband for 14 years. Veronica has 4 amazing children two boys Nicolas 24 and Alexander 11 and two girls Isabella 6 and Cassandra 3. Veronica likes to relax by camping in her RV with her family, and when she is not glamping she enjoys spending her time watching her son play Baseball.
Recently promoted to Wealth Strategy Associate for the team of Kira, Kira, Morris and Bates, Matthew Bates creates financial plans, identifies investment solutions, and analyzes and interprets portfolio performance to add his recommendations to those of the team financial advisors, helping to build trusted client relationships. After joining UBS in 2019 as a Client Service Associate, he has been mentored by the two senior financial advisors on the team – his father, Michael Bates, and branch manager, Scott Morris – learning how consistent efforts to evaluate the client experience give the greatest level of care and attention to clients. With the team, he specializes in financial planning for retirees and business owners through exit planning and 401(k) plan management. Matthew has achieved his Series 7 and Series 66 licenses and has become registered with FINRA in both California and Arizona.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from California State University San Bernardino. In his spare time, Matthew enjoys spending time with family and friends, motorcycle riding, traveling, and enjoying different cuisines.
