Wall Street …. investing … economics have captured my interest going all the way back to high school when I opened an investment account with the savings from my first part time job. My educational background and first "real" job were in hospital administration as Director of Financial Planning for UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. A key part of my responsibilities there was to coordinate a bond issue that funded construction of the North Carolina Jaycee Burn Center and other updated hospital facilities. This experience led me to what is now a 40 year career in the securities industry itself.
For ... 20 years I was a public finance investment banker, consulting with hospitals and universities on the planning and completion of municipal bond offerings.
In 1999 I joined UBS (then PaineWebber) as a Financial Advisor. Today our team oversees $200 million in client assets ....... Our clients are generally individuals / families or small business retirement programs. I have been approved by UBS to manage accounts on a "discretionary" basis under the firm's Portfolio Management Program.
