As First Vice President – Wealth Management, Jim brings over 40 years of experience in the financial services industry to his clients and takes a holistic approach to wealth management, working with clients to help them pursue their financial goals. During his tenure in the industry, he has developed an extensive knowledge of the financial markets, economic conditions and investment strategies. He started his career in 1972 with Rauscher Pierce, and moved to UBS from Smith Barney in 1999. Jim is one of a small number of UBS Financial Advisors who have earned the designation of Wealth Advisor, the result of a rigorous nine-month program designed to deepen his wealth management skills and insights. Among his areas of specialty are retirement income planning, corporate stock benefits, and dealing with the issues associated with the corporate officer and insider stock ownership.
Originally from Beaumont, TX, Jim graduated from The University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics in 1970. Active in his community Jim is on the boards of several non-profit organizations involved in theatre arts. Additionally, Jim has performed in a number of theatrical productions in the Houston area. He is a two-time past president of the Episcopal High School Dad's Club and continues to work on the organization's golf committee.
