Rick Hughes oversees the HSS Partners team at UBS and focuses on building enduring client relationships while guiding high-net-worth families through life’s most important financial decisions. He believes that true wealth planning starts with understanding what matters most to each family. With over 25 years of experience, Rick works alongside his colleagues to help clients address immediate financial needs, prepare for future goals and plan for legacies that extend beyond their lifetime.
Whether the focus is on creating strategies to help sustain a lifestyle after retirement, preparing for the sale of a business or shaping multigenerational legacies, Rick takes the time to learn what matters most to his clients. He helps entrepreneurs navigate liquidity events and supports families plan for wealth transfer and philanthropy.
Rick’s role extends beyond just investments. He helps guide the collaborative work of his clients’ attorneys, accountants and trustees, often acting as a central hub or serving as the family’s first call when major decisions arise.
Rick began his career at Merrill Lynch and held senior roles at Morgan Stanley before moving to UBS in 2021 to start HSS Partners with his associates.

Dan Silverberg plays a central role in the operation of HSS Partners. He helps affluent families simplify financial complexity and brings clarity to every stage of planning. To do so, he develops strategies that address near-term financial needs while preparing for long-term goals and multigenerational transitions.
Dan helps trustees and plan sponsors manage retirement and benefit plans, guides fiduciaries in balancing obligations with family goals and works closely with families on estate and legacy planning. He supports his clients by breaking down complex strategies into clear, manageable plans that align with their priorities.
Collaboration is a hallmark of Dan’s approach. He coordinates with his clients’ attorneys, accountants and other advisors, helping to ensure their strategies and plans stay aligned. His steady perspective over the years has helped families stay focused through market volatility and life transitions alike.
Dan served in senior roles at Morgan Stanley before moving to UBS with HSS Partners in 2021. He currently splits his time between Florida and the Philadelphia office.

Shawn Senior works primarily with families navigating major life transitions — from retirement to divorce, to post-career planning. He draws on lessons learned from both his athletic and financial careers to connect with clients and support them through periods of challenge and critical change. He works with individuals and families to create strategies that balance current income needs with long-term growth and legacy planning.
Shawn has extensive experience working with professional athletes, divorced women and retirees, helping them navigate transition. His ability to connect with clients personally, listen to their goals and translate those goals into practical strategies has earned him lasting relationships across generations. Whether helping families plan for retirement or guiding them through sudden life changes, Shawn provides advice to help them manage major financial decisions with clear eyes.
Prior to working in financial services, Shawn played in the Boston Red Sox organization. He later held positions at Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley, gaining experience across different client needs and market environments. The discipline and teamwork he learned from his baseball career continues to shape his work today.

He works with his clients’ attorneys, accountants and trustees to help keep their complex wealth strategies aligned. He aims to guide his clients through market challenges, life events and legacy planning with clarity and purpose. Joe has built enduring relationships with clients, many of which span multiple generations. He helps them design strategies for retirement, manage liquidity from business or real estate transactions and plan for wealth transfer and philanthropy.
Joe is an alumnus of St. Joseph’s Prep and began his career on the floor of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, where he developed an early passion for financial markets. He interned with HSS Partners in college before formally joining the team in 2011.

Before joining HSS Partners in 2021, Jeff worked at JPMorgan and Morgan Stanley, gaining valuable experience in retirement planning and wealth strategy.

Dawn Stil brings a steady presence to HSS Partners and is committed to providing clients with timely, consistent support. With decades of experience in financial services, Dawn oversees daily operations, coordinates client service and helps maintain the team’s high standards of responsiveness and care.
Dawn has worked with the team since 2006, becoming a valuable resource for clients and colleagues alike. She provides timely assistance with account needs, responds to operational requests, and supports clients whenever needed. Her organizational skills allow our Financial Advisors to focus on strategic planning, knowing that daily operations are being managed with precision.
Dawn began her career in 1987 and has held service and operations roles at Prudential and Morgan Stanley, building a foundation of knowledge that benefits both the team and our clients. She is a senior registered associate and holds Series 7 and 66 licenses.

Cheryl Buono is often the first voice clients hear when they contact HSS Partners. She has spent more than two decades building strong relationships with clients and plays a vital role in supporting the team’s service experience. With her approachable style, Cheryl enhances the client experience by making each interaction as seamless, positive and responsive as possible.
Cheryl assists clients with operational and administrative needs, from account updates to service requests. Her ability to anticipate and address client needs contributes to the smooth, consistent management of relationships.
She began her financial services career in 1993 and has worked with the team since 2002, bringing experience from her prior role at Morgan Stanley. Over the years, she has become an integral part of the team, providing the stability and continuity that helps build long-term client relationships.
