Helping you pursue your life's goals
What do you expect from your financial advisor? We believe managing your wealth involves so much more than investments. It requires getting to know you and your family so that we can understand your values, priorities and goals.
We are a seasoned team focused on financial planning. But our commitment is to exceed expectations by also helping families navigate life. We build personal relationships with multiple generations of our clients’ families, who rely on us for big-picture advice. We welcome the opportunity to help ensure that all aspects of your wealth are working in harmony.
Our mission is to provide quality strategies customized to your needs. Our goal is to be your primary source of financial advice. To this end, we concentrate our efforts on developing long-term relationships through a commitment to quality client service.
Rick began working in the financial services industry in 1980 and joined UBS in 2000. With the instincts and skills honed by his nearly 40 years as a financial advisor, he provides holistic wealth management solutions for high net worth individuals and their families.
As one of the very few UBS advisors to earn the prestigious Wealth Advisor designation, Rick serves multiple generations within families with comprehensive financial and long-term planning. He also holds the Certified Private Wealth Advisor (CPWA®) designation, an advanced professional certification for advisors who work with high net worth clients on wealth accumulation, preservation and distribution. Planning dozens of years in advance for a client's retirement or the college education of their children or grandchildren and seeing those plans come to fruition is his greatest reward as a financial advisor.
As a partner of Gateway Family Wealth, Rick deals with all aspects of client wealth management, but is specifically involved in the investment strategy, individual stock portfolios and fixed income strategy. Along with assisting private clients, Rick is actively engaged in serving the unique needs of the team's institutional, corporate, foundation and endowment fund clients.
Rick lives in St. Louis with his wife and is passionate about helping disadvantaged children within his community. He has served as a board member of the Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital and as a board member and president of the Logos School, an alternative school for children with major learning impediments. He is a former president and current board member of The Little Bit Foundation, a public charity providing basic services to disadvantaged children. In his spare time, Rick enjoys golfing and cycling.
Mike began his career at UBS in 2007 and is a partner on the Gateway Family Wealth team, intimately involved in overseeing the team’s operations and developing and implementing the group’s investment strategies. Planning is Mike’s passion – he enjoys helping the families he serves identify their goals, recognize their blind spots, and develop action plans to put them in control of their financial lives. He believes this is a hands on business and cherishes the time he spends side-by-side with his clients.
Over the years, Mike has developed a specialty in addressing the unique planning needs of business owners and entrepreneurs. He helps these clients confidently conquer challenges they face with strategic planning at every stage, whether they are just starting, growing, or planning to exit their business. A testament to his commitment, Mike has earned the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®) designation and has helped multiple clients juggle the personal, business and market-related factors involved to complete successful sales to family members, private equity, ESOPs, and other buyers. Mike also holds the prestigious Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS®) designation and has spent considerable time helping companies design valuable retirement plans and executive compensation benefits while navigating an increasingly complex world of regulation and litigation and he has served as a keynote speaker and featured author on the topics.
Mike is one of the few advisors to earn the esteemed UBS Wealth Advisor designation. Only a small number of exceptional advisors recognized for their deep commitment to multi-generational wealth management are selected by the firm’s leadership to participate in this rigorous program.
Mike and his wife are St. Louis natives who met in college and are raising their family together in Chesterfield, MO.
Sean believes that choosing a wealth manager is one of the most important decisions a family can make—yet proper financial advice and planning can be difficult to find. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, he believes in adding significant value to his clients’ lives, going beyond investments to help them define and pursue their financial goals. Based on trust, his practice is customized to help support his clients’ current lifestyle, retirement income needs and legacy ambitions in a tax-efficient way.

In addition, the work ethic, passion, discipline and teamwork that became second nature to him during his playing days are the same attributes he employs with all his clients as a wealth manager and CFP® practitioner.
Since retiring from the professional side of ice hockey in 2014, Sean is very involved with youth hockey in St. Louis. He currently coaches and serves on the board of the St. Louis AAA Blues. His other main interests include golf, tennis and travel. Sean lives in Wildwood, MO, with his wife, Chelsea, and their two young children.

Working with diverse clients with specific needs, our team sees it as our top responsibility to understand each aspect of your unique and often complicated financial life.
Do you have a strategy to pursue what matters most?
We start by having meaningful conversations about your vision for the future. Our focus remains on your progress toward your goals and how we can help with broader needs.
We conduct a Financial Goal Analysis to understand what you have, what you need and what you hope for. Then we create your comprehensive financial plan, which includes details about spending, saving, borrowing, investing and insurance. From there we develop an investment strategy designed to meet your objectives.
Our team offers hands-on investment management rather than outsourcing to third-party managers. Your specific strategy is likely to incorporate portfolios that we manage for you on a discretionary basis, drawing on the intellectual capital of UBS.
How will you protect and pass down the wealth you’ve built?
We understand the financial—and emotional—needs of affluent families. In many cases, we are working with two, three and even four generations of the same family.
Our team has deep experience advising families about wealth accumulation and preservation, wealth transfer and wealth education. We have intentionally created a multigenerational team that can relate to family members of any age and will endure over time. Our goal is to provide meaningful, focused advice that simplifies your family’s life.
In addition to offering access to specialists at UBS, we will work with your team of personal advisors to address all aspects of your wealth. We coordinate with your CPA and attorney to ensure that everyone is on the same page about your financial plan.
Are your employees saving for their future?
We can help privately held businesses and nonprofit organizations manage their corporate retirement plans. Mike Mauzy has earned the prestigious Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®) designation, which demonstrates his proficiency in creating and implementing corporate retirement plans.
Defined contribution plans are an important tool for attracting and retaining talented employees and staff. Yet regulation and litigation related to these plans are increasing at a rapid pace. We can help business owners, executives and nonprofit boards offer retirement benefits while keeping up with the latest regulatory developments. We also offer financial planning and analysis for your plan
Who do you turn to when “life happens”?
We want to be your first call when something significant occurs or you have a decision to make. You can depend on us for advice about more than just your finances.
We’re here to answer questions about your portfolio, but also about broader topics like Social Security, Medicare or funding nursing home care. Our approach to client service is proactive, thoughtful and customized to your wishes. To further strengthen our relationships, we host family outings for our clients and their children and grandchildren.
