    As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ or CFP® professional, Derek focuses on building a fully integrated financial plan for managing your wealth; looking at your current financial picture, identifying your goals, assessing your lending, saving and income needs, and finally, reviewing your estate and legacy goals. As a Certified Investment Management Analyst or CIMA® professional, he then focuses on individual investment and security analysis, asset allocation, and efficient portfolio construction to minimize your risk, fees, and portfolio volatility helping you achieve the goals set forth in your plan. Using a full range of global resources available at UBS, your strategy is implemented and progress tracked with ongoing communications -- building a relationship you can count on over time.

    In addition to holding the CFP® professional and CIMA® professional certifications, Derek is FINRA registered, holding series 7 (General Securities Representative), 9/10 (General Securities Sales Supervisor), 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law), and 65 (Uniform Investment Advisor Law) securities licenses as well as life, accident & health and annuity licenses.

    Derek earned a bachelor's degree in Finance from the Warrington School of Business at the University of Florida after serving eight years in the U.S. Marine Corps trained as a Russian linguist on a six man reconnaissance team. Derek, his wife Joie, and their two children enjoy many outdoor activities in their spare time including: boating, skiing, kayaking and hiking.

      Jolynn "Joie" Frosh is FINRA registered holding series 7 and 66 securities licenses as well as series 9 and 10 licenses. She has been working with Derek in his practice since 2008.

      Joie is our team's "concierge," focused and dedicated to providing exceptional customer service. She is here to assist you with setting an appointment, placing trades, brokerage deposits, funds transfers, check requests, statements or tax reporting copies, fee questions, or gain/loss reports. She places equal importance on every client's issues or concerns and see them all through to completion.

      Joie also directs all client communications for the team by providing market commentary pieces, investor education, newsletters, and timely market updates, all aimed at keeping you well informed. She also ensures that your review appointments are regularly scheduled. Ongoing communication is essential to maintain your strategic plan -- adjustments may be required as markets move and/or your life situations change.

      Joie earned a bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Florida.
