I've been in your shoes. I've led, as president, divisions of two of the largest public homebuilders in the U.S.. I've raised three children, put them through college, and have experienced them leave the nest as they married and created families of their own. And, unfortunately, I've experienced the anxiety of watching a parent slowly slip away into the fog of Alzheimer's. These experiences, and my background as a CPA (I can't provide tax advice) and a CEPA® (Certified Exit Planning Advisor), uniquely qualify me to develop and implement a plan to ensure your desires surrounding your liquidity, longevity, and legacy are met.
The typical business owner has 70 to 90 percent of their worth tied up in their businesses. Unfortunately, 70% or more will fail to either sell to a third party or transition to the next generation successfully. Of business owners that are successful, 75% wish they had not sold as they weren't prepared for their life afterwards. Exit planning is a business strategy focused on exponentially increasing the value of the business, improving the chances of success of the next generation, and improving the exiting owner's chances of a fulfilling lifestyle post exit.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Business Administration-Accounting from California State University-Dominguez Hills prior to relocating to Phoenix from Southern California in 1988. In 1993, I received my CPA designation, and became a CEPA in 2019.
