Max Perez is responsible for providing financial advisory to insurance companies, universities, pension plans, hospitals, and other corporations.
Professional history
Max joined UBS in 2008 and has been a financial advisor with an institutional focus since 2010. Throughout that time he has also assisted individuals and families with their wealth management needs. Prior to joining the institutional consulting team, Mr. Perez held several roles within UBS including Director of Institutional Sales and Director of Capital Markets. As a Director of Institutional Sales, Mr. Pérez was responsible for covering a large portfolio of institutional clients ranging from insurance companies to government entities, commercial banks and investment funds. As Director of Capital Markets, Mr. Pérez was a municipal bond trader and ran the syndicate desk in charge of new issues.
Max Perez began working in the investment industry in 2001 as an investment banking analyst at Santander Securities where he would later transition to other roles in which he assisted Santander Bancorp's CEO in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, investor relations and strategic planning. Prior to joining Santander, Mr. Pérez began his professional career at Procter & Gamble as a financial analyst.
Education
Mr. Perez holds a B.S. in Finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA in Finance from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. In 2015 Max obtained the Certified Investment Management Analyst® certification and completed advanced investment management consulting coursework at the MIT Sloan School of Management.

John Thomas Engfer provides investment management consulting services to public and private pensions, corporations, hospitals, foundations and endowments in the United States, Puerto Rico as well as internationally.
Professional history
John joined PaineWebber's PRIME Investment Consulting in 2000. Prior to joining the firm, John served as Second Vice President at Salomon Smith Barney and worked at the firm's Consulting Group Institutional Services Division serving as consultant to public and private funds. John began working in the investment field in 1987 with Dean Witter Reynolds in Boston, Massachusetts as an intern while completing his undergraduate studies. In 1989 he joined The Boston Company, as an Account Specialist, working on special projects for the firm's institutional clients. In 1994 he joined Prudential Securities as a Financial Advisor. In 1996, he joined Smith Barney as a Second Vice President of Investments.
John serves on the board of directors of Pro Arte Musical, Puerto Rico's oldest non-profit organization dedicated to promoting classical music and musical education.

Mr. Engfer is a graduate of Babson College, with a B.S. in Finance and Economics. He also holds an M.S. in Banking and Financial Services from Boston University. He is a Certified Investment Management Analyst and is a member of the Investment Management Consultants Association. In 1998, he received his CIMA® certification from his work, sponsored through the Investment Management Consultants Association, at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

Jose Chaves is responsible for assisting the team on portfolio analysis, portfolio implementation, investment manager search and evaluation, performance review, account monitoring, client presentations, and client service.
Professional history
Mr. Chaves joined UBS in 2012. Prior to joining our team, Mr. Chaves was part of a wealth management team with over $250 million in assets under management where he held the role of investment analyst in charge of designing comprehensive investment plans for his clients.

Mr. Chaves holds a B.S. in Accounting and Finance from the Villanova School of Business at Villanova University and a Masters in Security Analysis and Portfolio Management from the Heider College of Business at Creighton University. In 2016 Jose earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) designation.

Elaine is our team’s office manager and leads the daily operations of our team. She is the point person for all client service needs and supports the team in coordinating operational and administrative issues with our home office support groups.
Professional history
Elaine has been with UBS for over 25 years contributing as operations manager, financial analyst, and institutional consulting program manager for the Investment Consulting Division; and most recently she was in charge of financial planning and investments education to retirement plan participants while in the Retirement Plans Division.

Mrs. Flores holds a BA in Economics from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA in Finance from the Universidad Interamericana de Puerto Rico. She is a Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) and Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS) designee. She is licensed as a registered securities representative and investment advisor representative in Puerto Rico.

Eneida joined our team in 2023 as a Client Service Associate. She supports our team in all client service needs, account opening and maintenance, and other administrative matters.

Eneida has over 25 years of progressive experience in the brokerage industry. Joined UBS Financial Services, Inc. in 2003 holding various roles. Most recently as Business Risk Specialist. She brings to the team her experience with client service resolution and account analysis.
