In 2013, Congress had failed to pass the national budget bill on time, and as a result the nonprofit sector I was working in came to a standstill. I decided to look for a new career, but it was hard to find a job in Washington, DC. I talked my way into UBS, emphasizing that I was hardworking and really good with numbers. As it turns out, it was more important that I was good with people.
For the next eight years, I worked as a Client Service Associate on a wealth management team
in Washington, DC, working closely with my advisors to learn the business from the bottom up. I began to realize that we were most successful when we developed close relationships with our clients and were able to create comprehensive financial plans for them.
In 2019, I achieved the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation and began focusing on holistic financial planning for clients. Today, I use my planning skills along with my Series 7 and 66 securities licenses, and my licenses for life, accident, and health insurance and annuity
products to deliver comprehensive planning for clients. So, while my calls may run long and our conversations cover a VERY wide variety of topics, they all lead to uncovering what matters most for clients' financial futures. As Warren Buffet once said, "Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago."
My bachelor’s degree is in Political Science from the College of Charleston. I live with my husband, Leland, and our dog, Eleanor, in Annapolis, MD
