With over 24 years of experience in the financial industry, Ted has built a distinctive service model by delivering highly responsive and individualized attention, and a personalized and objective planning process. His goal is to help his clients reach theirs.
Ted has a sophisticated and dynamic wealth planning process to best care for the management of the "big picture" for families of significant wealth. The premise of Ted's process is to help provide clients with confidence in achieving the goals they value while avoiding unnecessary risk.
He coordinates with his clients' CPAs and attorneys as needed to help ensure that the entire team is focused on the clients' goals. He helps clients recalibrate to keep them centered and on-track. With Ted's wealth planning process, clients know where they stand in reference to their goals every step of the way.
Ted serves corporate executives, private equity principals, attorneys, entrepreneurs and closely-held business owners. His caring, commitment, and attention to detail creates mutually fulfilling, multigenerational relationships.
After starting rowing his freshmen year at Dartmouth College, Ted successfully made the US National Team three years later, winning numerous International medals and competing in the 1996 and 2000 Olympics, winning a Silver Medal in Sydney in 2000. In March, 2012, in recognition of his successful rowing career and contribution to the US Olympic Teams, Ted was elected to the US Rowing Hall of Fame, housed in Mystic Seaport Connecticut. In 2022, he was named one of the top 15 athletes in Dartmouth College history.
Ted lives in Marin, with his wife Kelly, and their twins Jack and Katie. He is on the board of the Northern California Olympians. Ted is an avid golfer and cyclist, although less accomplished in both sports than he would like; and he enjoys reading, and good food and wine.
Jason Schlesinger is a Managing Director and Portfolio Manager at UBS, and specializes in fixed income assets. Prior to joining UBS, Jason managed client assets at RW Baird, Wells Fargo, and Bank of America. Jason has helped clients successfully navigate the markets over the past 20 years. Jason’s approach to wealth management is that to be a successful advisor, one must consider both The Art & The Science.
The Science is math: that being considerate of the changes in markets due to the evolution of those markets, the changes in regulatory demands, and how investors own those assets allows a modern take on Modern Portfolio Theory. The Art is grounded in the belief that an advisor must be involved in a client’s total financial picture, and both sides of their balance sheet – both today and tomorrow. Each client is truly different, coming with different levels of understanding and goals. Jason believes that the more open he and the clients are with each other, the better the outcome will be; and his deep experience in helping clients set up their estates, and building tax efficient investment trusts leads to a bridging of short, medium and long term goals.
Jason attended Boston University with an emphasis in Finance. He has furthered his education attending classes in finance at the Wharton School of Business Executive Education program as well as Golden Gate University.
Jason has worked on two Presidential Campaigns and serves on the board of directors for the Better Angels Society Foundation, and is on the investment committee for the Make a Wish Foundation, and the board of Take Me to the River.
He lives in Marin and spends his time with his wife Kristin and their children Grace and Cameron, following them around, golfing, exercising and milling around the waters of Cape Cod digging for clams, oysters and anything else that lives in the ocean and is slower than he is.
Jason Cheu holds the position of Financial Advisor and specializes in equity investments.
Before joining UBS, Mr. Cheu garnered invaluable insights into the intricacies of equity analysis through key roles at prominent financial institutions, including RW Baird, Bank of America, Friedman Billings Ramsey, ABR Investments, and a San Francisco-based hedge fund. His extensive background in these capacities has contributed to his nuanced understanding of market dynamics and strategic investment methodologies.
With a steadfast commitment to fundamental research, Mr. Cheu shapes his approach to portfolio management around the belief that sustained revenue and earnings growth serve as the primary drivers of long-term price performance. Currently overseeing the UBS PMP equity portfolio, he strategically positions assets within compelling secular growth themes, a responsibility he executes with precision and diligence.
Mr. Cheu's analytical rigor extends to his utilization of the "Rule of 40" criterion—whereby the sum of future revenue growth and free cash flow margins must exceed 40%—as a discerning filter to identify companies suitable for inclusion in the portfolio. His strategic focus for 2024 centers on key industry themes, including E-commerce, Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, and Cybersecurity.
Educationally, Mr. Cheu holds a Master’s in Business Administration with a finance emphasis from the University of Southern California. His academic foundation commenced with the attainment of a degree in Quantitative Economics & Decision Sciences from the University of California, San Diego.
Outside of work, Mr. Cheu’s interests extend to personal passions, including fun on tennis court, sharing great meals with friends, and spending quality time with loved ones.

For more than 160 years, UBS has proven its strength and guided clients through a wide range of market opportunities and financial challenges. Time and again, we’ve been tested and proven resilient, and our clients continue to put their trust in us and our wealth management expertise to help them achieve their goals. Today, UBS is stronger than ever.
What’s really important to you—today and for the long term? UBS Wealth Way starts with questions and discussions that can help you organize your financial life into three key dimensions: Liquidity—to help provide cash flow for short-term expenses, Longevity—for longer-term needs and Legacy—for needs that go beyond your own.
UBS Wealth Way is an approach incorporating Liquidity. Longevity. Legacy. strategies that UBS Financial Services Inc. and our Financial Advisors can use to assist clients in exploring and pursuing their wealth management needs and goals over different time frames. This approach is not a promise or guarantee that wealth, or any financial results, can or will be achieved. All investments involve the risk of loss, including the risk of loss of the entire investment. Time frames may vary. Strategies are subject to individual client goals, objectives and suitability.
But the financial stakes of your decisions are getting higher. Today, your financial situation is more complex and you’re looking at how to grow and safeguard your assets. No matter what's happening in the markets, at home or throughout the world, we're with you and your family.
Wealth is more than your investments. It’s the sum of your aspirations for your life, family and future. With our account services, you, as our client, can pursue goals with more confidence because you can see how all your financial activities work together. It’s your wealth, your way.
Consider prioritizing SI portfolio alignment
The sustainability transition is not just driven by policy, as investors and corporations alike are integrating SI into their portfolios and businesses. At UBS, we view a widening breadth of SI vehicles as an opportunity to deepen exposure.
