Joe joined UBS in 2020 and leads the firm’s strategic presence in The Woodlands, Texas, while serving as a member of the Houston executive leadership team. With nearly two decades of experience in the financial services industry, he has guided high net worth and ultra high net worth individuals, senior executives, corporations, and endowments through complex wealth and organizational challenges.
Joe’s career includes leadership and advisory roles at Northwestern Mutual, JPMorgan, Charles Schwab, and Merrill Lynch, where he built a broad foundation across wealth management, financial planning, and institutional advisory. At UBS, he combines market leadership with direct client engagement, ensuring the firm’s full capabilities are effectively delivered. His oversight spans investment management, comprehensive financial planning, specialized lending solutions, access to the UBS Investment Bank, and advanced estate planning strategies. His leadership is focused on driving growth, strengthening client outcomes, and deepening UBS’s presence across the Houston region.
Joe earned his B.S. in Financial Management from the School of Human Ecology at The Ohio State University. During his time there, he competed on the club baseball team, contributed to Scarlet and Gray Financial, and was named to the Dean’s List. He holds the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) and the Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®) designations, completing his coursework at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

They want an experienced CFP® practitioner. I believe they feel better after we help them create a formal retirement income plan, if not a complete wealth management plan.
Our core process is Goals-Based Wealth Management. Its all centers on you, the client. First, "Understand Your Life” describes what is most important to you: family, home, work, health, leisure, giving. We help clients to frame these hopes as financial objectives. Your goals are documented in writing and modified as your life changes. Second, our "Disciplined Investment Process” is driven by your goals, investment personality and risk profile. We hold formal reviews with you of investment progress to goals and we make adjustments as appropriate. Third, we practice "Transparency of Results and Fees” meaning cost and performance reporting.
Communication is essential to any relationship and we have multiple methods. We prefer face-to-face meetings, but we also like to use online web meetings.
My financial advisory career began in 2004 after twenty years of success at Schlumberger and Halliburton, where I worked in field operations, technical sales, product development and strategic planning. Before this I served as a US Army active duty infantry officer.
I feel these varied life experiences help me show empathy for my clients whose work and family fill their day. They seek a trusted advisor to help them organize the present and plan for the future.
