I began my career in the financial services industry in 1985 and came to UBS in 1988, after a tenure at North P.R. Local Development. Over the past 24 years, I have helped my clients take advantage of all types of market situations and manage risk wisely to meet their financial goals and objectives. I have been a member of the UBS recognition club since 1993. Recently my son, José Chaves, has teamed up with me to create the Chaves Wealth Management Group. Our goal is to fully understand each of our clients’ risk tolerance and long term goals in order to develop a sound investment plan.

We focus on a comprehensive analysis of our clients’ assets while developing diversified investment strategies that incorporate a wide range of investment products. We also help them with financial and retirement income planning, structures for charitable giving and estate planning. I am FINRA-registered and hold Series 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses as well as licenses for life, accident and variable annuities. I am registered in California, Florida, New York and Puerto Rico.

I graduated from the Academia del Perpetuo Socorro, hold a Bachelor’s degree in Management from Boston University and a Juris Doctor from the InterAmerican University of Puerto Rico. I live in San Juan with my wife Liliana Franceschini and enjoy boating and water skiing with my sons José and Ricardo.

In 2010 and 2011, I participated in the UBS Summer Internship Program in Puerto Rico as a Financial Advisor in training, an opportunity that allowed me to acquire broad experience in the financial industry. I joined UBS full time in 2012, by teaming up with my father José A. Chaves to create the Chaves Wealth Management Group. My goal is to ensure that our clients are getting the services they expect from our team. I concentrate on designing personalized, need—based strategies for my clients.

With our clients, we focus on a comprehensive analysis of their assets while developing diversified investment strategies. We also help them with financial and retirement income planning, structures for charitable giving and estate planning. I am FINRA-registered and hold Series 7 and 66 securities licenses as well as licenses for life, accident and variable annuities.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the Villanova University in PA. I enjoy boating, boxing, reading and traveling.
