Erik joined UBS Private Wealth Management after spending the first 15 years of his financial career advising clients and managing assets for institutional pools of capital – most recently with Textron Inc, where he was primarily responsible for investment decisions in their $8 billion U.S. Defined Benefit Pension plan.  His experience includes investment consulting, portfolio management, and governing board participation – with a passion for financial markets probably a byproduct of sitting around the Carleton family dinner table.

A graduate of Middlebury College (BA - Economics) and Bentley University (MS - Finance & MBA - Financial Planning), he brings an understanding of global markets, risk management, and institutional insights to our office.  The planning and balance involved with intergenerational wealth preservation is one of his favorite professional topics, and he understands the unique challenges for both tax-exempt (Pension, Endowment, Foundation) and tax-aware (High Net Worth, Family Office) investors.

Erik currently serves on the Investment Committee for the Bentley University endowment and for the Rhode Island PBS Foundation, having also formerly served as a voting member of the state pension plan of Rhode Island.  He lives in Barrington, RI with his wife and two children.

Proven advisors with subject matter experts at their side help make your possibility of success a reality.

Estate and trust lawyers speak one language. Insurance professionals, another. Tax experts view the world through their particular lens. Direct investment professionals through another. In many cases, what seems like a good decision in one place causes problems in another.

We are here to be your personal advisor that understands these languages, and can “translate” what you are being asked to consider against your overall financial objectives.

Do you trade Liquidity for Illiquidity? Is it advisable to Control Volatility at the expense of Tax Efficiency? If you are insuring against risk, what is that risk? These are only a few of the many decisions you will be asked to make as you build and continually shape your financial future.

Contact us, we're ready to listen.
