First Vice President–Wealth Management
Financial Advisor
After leaving my company in Ft. Worth, I moved to Corpus Christi to become a sales engineer. My advisor at Merrill Lynch said I had a knack for investing so I should meet with his manager to discuss becoming a financial advisor. After meeting with the manager he offered me the job, I thought about why I would make the switch from something I was very good at to something I would need to learn from scratch. Opportunity accepted! I love to challenge myself and the thought of learning new things and using them to help others achieve their financial goals fit what I like to do which is to help people.
Whether in my previous career or in my present career, people seemed to pick up very quickly that I am genuine and that my main objective is to help them achieve their goals rather than promote mine. I have had the privilege to work with the parents, their children and now their grandchildren in my 25 years and that gives me great satisfaction. After a while, they understand that achieving their objectives is all that matters to me. Not just managing risk, but building a financial plan so we have a road map, helping them with their estate planning issues, and being proactive when things change. The greatest compliment that my clients give me is when they refer their children to me and ask me to help them. That is legacy wealth, a motivation to keep doing what I am doing and always strive to be better.
My clients like that I approach the business with the idea there is always something to learn. I’ve obtained the professional CFP designation. I am continuously doing research and have the ability to convey it to them in an understandable manner. My clients can find me at the pool being a USA swim and UIL Deck Referee or the swim meets I officiate. As a Master Gardener, I also educate people in Texas on responsible organic gardening. I am passionate about serving people, whether we are in the garden, pool or the conference table.
