John and an associate opened the Shearson’s Buffalo office in 1976 after internship at Merrill Lynch following university at SUNY at Buffalo where he graduated. His industry experience and strong commitment are key drivers to the team’s success. John’s goal is to help prepare clients for their future needs, appropriately manage risk and expectations, and help create and monitor sophisticated portfolios for individuals and institutions. His passion for the global markets, insight and judgment is locally acknowledged as he currently sits on or chairs the investment committees and serves in a senior governance capacity for several local organizations.

John currently is the Chair of Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo Foundation, Chair of their Quality Assurance Committee, a Member of their Investment Committee, and past Chair & Treasurer of Hospice & Palliative Care Buffalo. John also serves as a Trustee and Treasurer of the Western New York Public Broadcasting Foundation and is the Chair of their Investment Committee. He is the Past Chair and Treasurer of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra & is a Past Chairman and Treasurer of the Kleinhans Music Hall Board & of BPO Musicians Union Pension. He is also the Past Commodore of the Youngstown Yacht Club and established their Jr Sailing Foundation. He served as the Vice President and Director of HoliMont Ski Club in Ellicottville NY and Chaired their Real Estate Committee.

John was an arbitrator for the National Futures Association & is past Member of the Capital Campaign for the St. Mary Convent, Past Member SUNY at Buffalo Deans Advisory Council, and is a past Vice Chair of South Park Urban Renewal. He lives with his wife Paula in Buffalo where they have raised four children: Sandy, Ian, Derek and Matthew. Both John and Paula are activly involved in the community.

Derek began his career as a Sales Liaison, with Morgan Stanley’s Consulting Group and its predecessor firm in Wilmington, DE in September of 2005. He was then promoted to Regional Consulting Group Technical Analyst in October 2006 in Seattle, WA; then onto Los Angeles, CA in the divisional office in August 2007. As a Technical Analyst Derek’s primary responsibilities were portfolio composition, manager search and analysis, and custom performance reporting for high net worth individuals and institutions. Derek joined his father’s team in September of 2008. Derek is a graduate of St. Lawrence University and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Derek is a Financial Advisor and has his Series 7, 66 and 3 registrations.

Derek lives in Buffalo, NY, and is also actively involved in sailboat racing with his father. In the colder months Derek takes to the slopes, a sport he actively competed at for several years. Derek is also involved in the Alumni Communities of his alma mater St. Lawrence University, and prep school, The Gow School. Along with his parents who are current Trustees, Derek is increasing his involvement in the Joy Family Foundation.

Derek holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 & 65 securities licenses and is a licensed California insurance agent (CA License #4044914).

John joined the Reinhold Group in the winter of 2011. Before joining the Reinhold Group, John was a founder, and managing partner of Noein, a software development firm based in Williamsville NY. John’s primary responsibilities at Noein included relationship management, and operations and personal management. John was also the firm's finance and accounting director. John’s primary focus with the Reinhold Group has been implementing bespoke futures trading strategies as part of an investment plan for qualified investors. John is a graduate of the University at Buffalo School of Management. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics with a concentration in financial analysis. John is currently a Financial Advisor, and is Series 7, 66 & 3 registered.

Karly Korzaniewski, Registered Client Associate, joined as a member of the Reinhold Group in December 2022. Karly graduated from The University at Buffalo with a degree in Business Administration. She also holds her Series 7 and 63 licenses. Karly is responsible for preparing client reviews, general client services and operational matters.

Karly was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. She enjoys being out and active, whether it be running or going to yoga and pilates, which she recently became certified in. The majority of her time is spent with her close-knit family, and friends going on trips or to dinners.
