Michael has enjoyed a long, successful and distinguished career in the private wealth management arena. He has spent his entire career at UBS and its predecessor firms—a total of 35 years. Michael focuses on advising ultra high net worth individuals, qualified retirement plans, foundations, endowments and corporations.
He was a member of the 2010 – 2012 UBS Renewal Team Advisory Council and a member of the UBS Institutional Consulting Group. He is former Co-Chairman of the Financial Advisor Advisory Council (FAAC) and former Chair of UBS FA Banking subcommittee. Michael is one of only four advisors who have been selected as members of the UBS 401(k) Investment Committee and UBS Pension Investment Committee.
Michael earned his Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA®) designation from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, has done extensive graduate work at the NYU Stern School of Business in international finance and is a graduate of the University of Albany with a B.S. in business administration. He is a member of the University of Albany School of Business Dean’s Advisory Board. In 2022, Michael was awarded the Excellence in Business award from the University of Albany for his success in the industry and commitment to Albany. He is a Senior Portfolio Manager within the UBS Portfolio Management Program. He holds the Series 3, 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses, as well as life insurance licenses.
Michael has long been a mentor and tremendous resource for other Financial Advisors at the firm and has been an invited keynote speaker at numerous industry events and seminars. Michael and his wife, Margaret, make their home in Armonk, NY and are the parents of three children: Nicole, Michael Jr. and Jonathan.
Greg has over 25 years of financial services experience, 15 of which have been with UBS. Greg analyzes, designs and implements financial and wealth planning strategies for clients based on their individual circumstances. Greg has a background in business, investment banking, estate planning and law. He is a Portfolio Manager within the UBS Portfolio Management Program.
Prior to joining UBS, Greg worked for three years at Merrill Lynch Global Private Client as a private wealth manager and two years at AXA Advisors, focusing on sophisticated financial and estate planning. In addition, Greg has nine years' experience in law, serving as general counsel in investment banking on Wall Street; two years in a private practice; and three years in the District Attorney's office.
Greg received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, his B.A. in political science with a minor in economics from Montclair State University, and studied abroad in Tuscany, Italy, at the University of Siena. He subsequently earned his Series 7, 24, 31, 63 and 65 securities licenses, as well as life and health insurance professional licenses. Greg is also one of a small number of UBS Financial Advisors who have earned the designation of Wealth Advisor. As a Wealth Advisor, he is eminently qualified to provide highly personalized wealth management services to his clients. Although he does not currently practice law, he is a member of the American Bar Association and admitted to the Bar in New Jersey and the United States District Court. Greg and his wife, Michele, make their home in Chatham, NJ, with their son, Troy.
Peter joined UBS in June 2000 as a Client Service Associate to a Portfolio Management Program team. He has over 23 years of financial services experience with the confidence and ability to serve a diverse client base. Peter’s responsibilities involve maintaining the discretionary trading platform, real estate financing and financial planning for The Poppo Group clients. He creates customized financial plans to help each client quantify their financial goals and analyze their financial situation. Before becoming a Financial Advisor, Peter was an Assistant Operations Manager, Branch Control Officer, with an Associate Director title. Peter received a B.S. from Emerson College in Boston, MA. He holds the Series 7, 9, 10 and 66 securities licenses as well as life and health insurance licenses.
A New York City native, Peter is active in his community as a board member of the Stanley M. Isaacs Neighborhood Center in Manhattan and President of the New York Croquet Club. He enjoys attending NY Knicks games with his daughter.
Tom has worked in the investment industry for the last 25 years, 21 of which have been with UBS. His primary role with The Poppo Group is to oversee all operational and administrative functions including daily account and managed portfolio monitoring. Prior to joining the team, Tom served eight years as Operations Manager for the Florham Park Complex, where he was responsible for supervising the operations of three different branch locations in New Jersey.
Tom, who was awarded the title of Associate Director for his outstanding service to the firm, holds the Series 7, 9, 10, 63 and 65 securities licenses. Tom lives with his wife, Jessica, and daughters, Julia and Amelia, in West Orange, NJ.
Joe joined The Poppo Group in 2022 after working as a Financial Advisor at the UBS Wealth Advice Center for 5 years. His role on the team includes a wide array of responsibilities such as operational oversight, investment research, portfolio analysis & construction, and financial planning.
Joe is actively pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation as a current Level II Candidate. He graduated from the Leon Hess Business School at Monmouth University in New Jersey where he received a B.S. in Finance. He holds his Series 7 and 66 securities licenses. Joe resides in Jersey City and is originally from Long Island.
Kyra joined The Poppo Group in 2020 with two years of financial services experience. Her primary responsibilities include managing client relationships and utilizing the team’s dynamic structure to provide clients with solutions tailored to each relationship. Kyra performs research on individual equities and other investment solutions, as well as coordinates the use and oversight of Alternative Investments.
Prior to joining The Poppo Group, Kyra completed the Graduate Talent Program within Wealth Management at UBS. She completed 5 rotations including CAO Business Management & Field Empowerment, Consolidated Advisory Program (CAP), Financial Planning, the East Divisional team, and The Poppo Group. Prior to joining the firm, Kyra graduated from the Olin Business School at Washington University in St. Louis, where she double majored in Finance and Accounting. She holds her Series 7 and 66 securities licenses. Kyra resides in Manhattan, and is originally from Scarsdale, New York.
