Experience

Stephen is a Financial Advisor who holds the UBS designation of Senior Portfolio Manager.  He applies over three decades of experience to the management of investment portfolios for affluent families. 

Through the many resources at UBS, he employs a broad range of investment vehicles to develop portfolios for clients that not only help fulfill their goals, financially, but also work within their risk framework.  In addition, he is devoted to advising clients on asset allocation, managing income during retirement, tax-minimization strategies, charitable giving and estate planning.

After graduating from Clemson University with a B.S. degree in Financial Management, Stephen began his career as a Commercial Banking Officer with Bank of America in 1988 and then joined Merrill Lynch in 1992 as a Financial Advisor.  Later, he obtained the Certified Financial Planner® certification from the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards.  He holds the Series 7, 9, 10, 31, 63 and 65 FINRA registrations.

Stephen and his wife, Lea Ann have been married since 1989 and are “empty nesters” after having raised four wonderful children.  They faithfully attend Grace Presbyterian Church (PCA) in downtown Spartanburg, SC.  They also enjoy hosting friends and family in their home, travelling, spending time at Fripp Island and tailgating at and attending Clemson football games. 

Stephen and Lea Ann live on a small farm in Walnut Grove – a community outside Spartanburg.  Stephen’s “best friend” is Lucy – his hound who is his constant companion when he’s working outside or going about in his farm truck.

Jesse joined UBS in April 2026 as a Wealth Strategy Associate. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Clemson University in Financial Management with an emphasis in Banking and Investments.  He then earned an MBA in Entrepreneurship and Innovation - also from Clemson.  Prior to joining UBS, Jesse interned with UBS in 2023 and later worked in the mortgage industry where he provided lending advice and guidance.

Leveraging his background in finance and entrepreneurship, Jesse’s area of focus centers around working with familes as well as closely-held businesses applying the resources available through UBS including cash management, portfolio and risk management, lending, insurance, retirement plans and business exit planning.  

As a believer in the proverb, “in the multitude of counselors there is safety,” Jesse understands the importance of leaning into the expertise of valued resources at UBS and clients’ accountants and other trusted advisors. He understands that coordinated planning leads to more thoughtful decision-making and helps clients pursue their goals with greater confidence.

A native of Spartanburg, Jesse enjoys spending time with family and friends.  He attends Downtown Presbyterian Church in Greenville.  He is also active through CrossFit and loves the "outdoors" including playing golf, hunting and getting to the beach whenever he can.  Of course, in the fall, you'll find him cheering on the Clemson Tigers and enjoying everything that goes along with college football.
