    For nearly 30 years, Steve has helped individuals, couples and families develop a roadmap for achieving their financial goals through listening to their needs, delivering sound advice and providing results-driven investment strategies. While many clients’ goals center around achieving a worry-free lifestyle in retirement, selling a family-owned business, purchasing a second home, paying off debt, or planning for the rising costs of college, Steve works tirelessly to help each client pursue the goals that matter most to them. He recognizes that everyone’s situation is unique. That’s why Steve strives to clearly understand who his clients are as individual investors first and then customizes a financial plan that helps them accomplish their desires.

    After 20 years as a Financial Advisor, Steve welcomed his niece, Laura Moore, to his practice to help his team enhance their comprehensive approach to working with clients. Together, they provide leadership in discretionary portfolio management drawing from their past experiences and applying current research and economic forecasts. They believe in being proactive in portfolio management by using various levels of cash and other securities that seek to help shield clients against market risk and volatility versus more traditional “buy & hold” strategies. Most recently, Steve and Laura joined UBS Financial Services Inc. where they have access to UBS’ broad array of investment solutions and research as well as a platform that allows them to continue to deliver the best in class service and global offering to clients.

    On a personal note, Steve is in the “sandwich” stage of life. He and his wife Lea Ann still have their youngest of four children at home while Steve, along with his two sisters, provide for the complete care of their mom who they adore. Beyond that, he and Lea Ann enjoy spending time with family and friends. Their interests include exercise, sports, the beach, snow skiing and attending Clemson football games.

      Laura Moore joined Steve Sorensen in 2015 to form the Sorensen Moore Group after working in the public relations industry. Together, Laura and Steve offer a holistic approach when providing advice to clients regardless of their life stage or current financial situation. Having come from closely knit families, Steve and Laura place a high priority on helping clients develop and secure their financial legacies. In addition to recommending financial strategies tailored to each client’s goals, they assist in transferring wealth to the next generation. Their process is designed to deliver a customized, consistent experience that goes beyond wealth management to help address client’s life priorities.

      Laura is conscientious, professional and quick to respond to requests of all kinds. She strives to make every client contact a positive experience and truly enjoys the personal relationships she has been able to develop with clients over the years. 

      As a Greenville native, Laura enjoys being active in the local community. She currently serves on the board of Greenville Women Giving. In the past, she served on the board of the Greenville chapter of Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance and The Rotary Club of Greenville, where she was awarded the 2017-2018 Rotarian of the Year. She was also named one of Greenville’s Best & Brightest 35 and Under in 2018.

      Laura and her husband, Andrew, attend Grace Church downtown where she sings on the worship team. Outside of work, you can find her spending time with her husband and daughter, reading, or whipping up some kind of treat in the kitchen.

        Virtually everyone who calls our team knows Valorie. Our clients love her, and she is an integral part of our practice. As a Senior Registered Client Service Associate, Valorie’s role is to help ensure the administrative needs associated with a client’s accounts are handled efficiently. Valorie loves her work and enjoys interacting with clients and delivering a high level of personal service. She assists clients and the advisor team in a variety of support functions, such as optimization of digital experiences, client communications, IRA Required Minimum Distribution Calculations and numerous operational procedures.

        Valorie holds a Bachelor of Science degree in human services and resources. She began her work as a Client Associate in 2005 with legacy Citi Smith Barney and later transitioned to Wells Fargo Advisors in 2009 where she began working with Steve Sorensen and his clients. She now works with both Steve Sorensen and Laura Moore and the clients of the Sorensen Moore Group.

        Valorie is married and she and her husband have two precious daughters who are full of joy and excitement. Her time away from work is spent outdoors, visiting family in Columbia, and participating in the community at the Taylors campus of Grace Church.
