    Travis began his career in financial services with Smith Barney in 1998 and since 2005 has been a Financial Advisor at the UBS offices in Bloomfield Hills and Dearborn. In 2009, he and Pamela formed the Shaw Miller Wealth Management Group. The team’s combined experience exceeds 60 years. Within the  team, Travis serves as business manager and is responsible for the day-to-day aspects of its practice, executing trades and working closely with clients to help them achieve their goals.

    Before Travis became a Financial Advisor, he ran his family’s retail sporting goods store, after his father passed away in 1994. Travis feels that the experience of growing up in the family business and running it enables him to relate to his business owner clients, truly understanding their  concerns and needs. He is also a people person, so building relationships comes easily to him.

    A native of Brighton, Travis is a graduate of Detroit Catholic Central and was awarded a B.B.A. in business management from Western Michigan University. He subsequently obtained his Certified Financial Planner™ certification in 2008. To acquire the certification, Travis had to be conferred by the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards by meeting certain education, examination and ethics requirements.

    In addition to his career, Travis is very committed to his family life as well as his community. He lives in South Lyon with his sons, Christopher and Luke, and his dog, Tucker. His hobbies include playing basketball, soccer, golf, watching sports and doing logic puzzles.

        Joel joined the Shaw Miller Wealth Management Group in 2012, following completion of his internship with the team in 2011 and graduation from University of Michigan with a major in finance in 2012. Joel serves as the team’s operations administrator. He is a focused problem solver and ensures that all operations and account administration run smoothly for clients. He is a computer-savvy, service-oriented member of the team and strives to create the best outcomes possible.

        Joel graduated from the University of Michigan with a major in finance in 2012. Joel also holds a Series 7 securities license. He enjoys sports as a hobby and, having played competitive hockey in college, now plays on a recreational league. He coaches 9- and 11-year olds in Macomb, MI, and directs his church choir. He grew up in southeastern Michigan, where his family still resides.

                Roberta is the team’s administrative manager and handles everything from marketing to operations to client service. She began her career in financial services with Pam in 2001 and continues to enjoy helping clients solve their challenges and reach their goals. In fact, she knows the team’s clients so well, she can list their names and key facts by memory. Roberta is currently studying for her Series 7 securities license. She lives in Southgate and in her free time enjoys reading, gardening and especially cooking. She has more than 100 cookbooks.

                        Karen has been in the financial services industry for 26 years, having previously worked at Merrill Lynch. Karen's industry experience includes financial planning and exceptional client service. She provides administrative support in all phases of client service: account processing and maintenance, scheduling appointments, and providing day-to-day client contact. Karen lives in Southgate with her daughter Brooklyn.
