Bob is the founding member of The Spina Group. He has more than 50 years of experience in the financial industry providing our clients with a wealth of knowledge in the various investment products available. As a Senior Portfolio Manager, Bob utilizes equities, fixed income and alternative investments to build a portfolio specifically designed for our clients’ unique objectives and risk tolerance. Bob can also provide access to lending services for individuals and corporate clients, recognizing the importance of considering their entire investment picture.
Bob has appeared on CNN Financial News, Bloomberg Television, WLNY-TV, Fox 5, and News 12 Long Island as well as CBS Radio 880, 1010 WINS and Bloomberg Financial Radio. Bob was featured on the cover of Investment Advisor Magazine, the magazine’s first feature ever on a retail broker and in the December 2012 issue of Forbes Magazine. For five years, Bob was also heard on “Money Watch," a nationally aired radio show.
A graduate of Iowa Wesleyan University and former member of the Board of Trustees, Bob earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, including additional business studies in London, England. Bob is a Trustee for the Village of Brookville as well as the Director of Emergency Management. He is a member of the Hearing Board for the New York Stock Exchange. An avid sportsman, Bob is a member and Governor of the Brookville Country Club, a CYO coach, past Commodore of the Huntington Yacht Club, and a former Pop Warner football coach. He is a past recipient of the President’s Volunteer Gold Service Award, having received this national honor from the President of the United States to recognize his valuable contributions as a volunteer during 2005, 2006 and 2007. Bob and his wife reside in Brookville.
Nancy has over 19 years of experience providing personalized financial advice, focusing her talents on serving the investment needs of high net worth individuals and corporations. She has 12 years of experience as a Portfolio Management Director managing client portfolios and helping our clients understand investment risk while keeping their long-term goals in mind. She is dedicated to working with our clients to both preserve and grow their wealth. Nancy appeared in the December 2012 issue of Forbes.
Nancy is a Chartered Retirement Planning CounselorSM (CRPC®) who focuses specifically on the retirement planning needs of individuals. Nancy utilizes the "bucket approach" which consists of three separate portfolios, each with a range of investments meeting specific needs over a particular time horizon. She helps to advise and manage clients’ wealth with the goal of preparing them for a comfortable life both before and after retirement.
Nancy is committed to developing long-term relationships with clients and their families by not only focusing on their financial needs, but incorporating their liquidity needs as well. By utilizing the competitive platform available at UBS, she is able to provide clients with flexible lending options including preparing for their short-term liquidity requirements. Nancy is well versed in our commercial real estate capabilities and is able to integrate commercial real estate into clients overall wealth management strategies as well.
Nancy earned a B.S. in finance from St. John’s University as well as an M.B.A. in finance from Hofstra University. She is a soccer coach, softball coach and a Girl Scout leader for her twin girls. Nancy, her husband and their three daughters reside in Garden City.
As a Certified Financial Planner™ Rob's focus is on constructing comprehensive financial plans giving clients security for their financial future. Rob relies on his wealth of knowledge and his ability to understand the clients' needs to develop an individualized plan. After reviewing the client's overall picture, including assets, liabilities, income, taxes, investments and estate planning, Rob creates a plan that helps clients prepare financially for their specific events such as college or retirement.
Prior to holding the position as a Financial Advisor, Rob served as a Wealth Planning Analyst for the Long Island Market. He created and presented financial plans for a wide array of clients while servicing the financial advisors throughout Long Island.
Rob holds the FINRA Series 7 and 66 securities licenses as well as licenses for life, accident and health insurance, and variable annuities. His designations include the Certified Financial Planner™ as well as Accredited Wealth Management AdvisorSM. Rob received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management from Fairfield University and is a graduate of Chaminade High School. Rob resides in Island Park.
Ellen has over 21 years of experience in the financial services industry. Ellen’s background is in retirement planning and investment consulting, with experience at Taft-Hartley Defined Benefit Funds and Health & Welfare Funds. She also worked with Morgan Stanley and Marcum Wealth, an independent advisory firm. She began her career at Goldman Sachs & Company in private wealth management.
Ellen’s primary focus is on client relationships, assisting with account inquiries, account opening and maintenance, and effective communication to provide relevant information in a timely manner. She provides support to the team and implements an overall positive client experience.
Ellen earned a BBA in International Business and MBA in Finance from Hofstra University. She currently holds her Series 7, Series 6, Series 63 and Series 66 licenses, and has a certification in the Essentials of Investment Consulting Certificate Program from the Investment Management Consultants Association. Ellen and her husband and family reside in Plainview.
