David (Doc) Rose says he came upon his financial services career by accident. But, if you believe that for everything there's a reason, you would know that David's choices and the impact he's made on the lives and financial well-being of his clients are hardly accidents. All roads in David's life from his father's early social work influences to his education in history and economics to each career touch point along the way have led him to his current position as a Director and Portfolio Manager at UBS.
A true American success story, David has a passion for learning that, combined with relentless hard work, paid off. He attended Fordham University at night, then went to graduate school and earned a Master's degree in management and leadership at East Stroudsburg University, while raising a family. Although his entire career has been spent at Wall Street firms, before working in the branch system, David worked for many years on various trading desks. This experience provided him with insights into portfolio construction and market understanding that have benefitted his clients over the years. With David's help and understanding, his clients gained confidence to stay the course and ride out difficult markets while building strong and loyal bonds with him.
Though David's knowledge is reflected in his work every day, in fact it is his love of people and helping them succeed that really defines his practice. Along with his Client Service Associate, Diana, David strives to create a family-type experience that keeps clients actively engaged and often inspires them to refer friends and colleagues. Furthermore, as the Branch Manager of the UBS Short Hills office, David enjoys helping other Financial Advisors advance their careers.
Not surprising, David's life outside of work is equally rich and rewarding. After 10 years as a catechist in his parish, he can honestly say that he received as much, if not more, from his service to those parishioners then he gave. David and his wife of nearly 30 years, Denise, live in Flanders, NJ and have three grown children, David, Julianne, Andrew, and their new puppy, Rosie. They love their family life, being outdoors and spending time at the beach.
Mark Pomo is a Vice President-Wealth Management member of the Rose Wealth Management for UBS Financial Services in Short Hills, New Jersey. Mark has more than 30 years of broad investment management experience in both the equity and fixed income markets. Prior to joining UBS in 2013, Mark was a wealth manager at Morgan Stanley for 26 years.
As a young man early in my professional career I realized that family members sought out my advice about a wide variety of things. They felt comfortable sharing not only their personal feelings but also sought advice on their finances and life goals. My desire to combine my interest in the financial markets with working with individuals led me into the securities industry. The trust that my family felt has been extended to my clients, which I feel makes my relationships as strong as they can be.
Mark received a BS in Accounting from Boston College in 1978. Prior to joining Morgan Stanley in 1986, he held various financial positions at General Cinema Corp, Gillette, and Olympia & York.
In his spare time, Mark enjoys coaching youth sports, staying active exercising, and spending time with his family.
With more than twenty years of industry experience, Diana joined UBS from Morgan Stanley in 2014 with David "Doc" Rose. Diana began her career at a small regional firm in NJ as a client associate and has gained extensive experience from her different roles and capacities held through the years, including the trading desk at Gibraltar Securities Co in Florham Park, NJ. As a Senior Registered Client Service Associate, Diana is responsible for all client administration and contact management. Additionally, she ensures the team delivers a customized service model to each client, including handling their day-to-day requests. Diana enjoys helping clients meet their goals.
Diana holds her Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses. She graduated from Millburn High School, and earned her BS in Business Administration with a concentration in management from the College of St. Elizabeth in Convent Station, NJ. Diana also speaks Italian fluently.
