After graduating from Florida State University, Rick served in the U.S. Army where he participated in graduate work in finance at the University of Oklahoma. Rick started as an investment advisor in 1973. After 21 years at Smith Barney, he moved to UBS to form a team with Nigel Fleming, his current business partner. He is married to Jo, his wife of 40 years and has two grown boys. He is also a former Board Member at Florida State University and current Board Member at Furman University.
