Peter’s financial services career began in 1984, spanning a number of roles. Such a long and varied tenure gives him perspective, insights, and connections that add deep value to his clients and his wealth management practice. Peter’s natural strengths start with listening, then helping his clients solve complex financial issues by providing a highly customized approach to financial planning.
He joined UBS in 2009, and now works with a select number of successful families, across multiple generations. His unique ability to advise the wealth creator, their children, and grandchildren – always tailoring his approach to the specific needs and concerns of each – gives the entire family confidence in his deep commitment to their long term success.
Family wealth dynamics can be difficult; Peter’s positive impact comes from knowledge of both the emotional and technical challenges implicit in all wealth and generational transfers. This ranges from helping family members understand the value of money and unlocking philanthropic potential, to collaborating with outside advisors on complicated estate planning and tax issues.
When building portfolios, Peter’s extensive experience in alternative investments, concentrated equity risk management, monetization strategies, succession strategies, equity research and trading, and volatility management allows him to help clients plan for the short, medium, and long term with more nuance than most. His investment experience is coupled with relationships across the industry, providing additional value to clients and teammates.
Prior to joining UBS, Peter worked at Kidder Peabody, D L J, and Credit Suisse. He earned his M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College and his B.A. in Economics from the Honors Program at the University of Michigan.
Peter lives in Pacific Palisades with his wife Shannon and their four teenagers. He volunteers with and supports autism treatment programs, focused on arts and athletics.
