Embracing Change Through Financial Planning

The investment and financial planning strategies presented by Ovid Wealth Management are tailor-made for each client and reviewed as needs and circumstances change.

Stephen Fish, Managing Director of Ovid Wealth Management of UBS - named after the Roman poet Publius Ovidius Naso, best known for his narrative poem "Metamorphoses" - sees a connection between Ovid's theme of evolving and how continuously changing financial industry can affect the lives of clients.

Just as in all facets of life, Fish believes one of the constraints in the financial industry is change. Tax laws, trade regulations, financial instruments, trends, and projections: For high net worth individuals, keeping track of all that can impact their wealth can be so time consuming that it could prevent them from actually enjoying what they have.

Change, however, is not a bad thing in and of itself. Ovid Wealth Management approaches changes as opportunities to help protect and grow the wealth of its clients. "We realize that we play a very important role in the lives of our clients and their families," says Fish. "We take our responsibilities seriously to help service our clients."

A Client-First Approach

"At Ovid Wealth Management, we strive to understand our clients' goals, time horizon, and tolerance for risk," says Fish. "We utilize an extensive due diligence process to score our recommendations in terms of performance, structure, and growth on an ongoing basis."

Fish believes that change is constant in the lives of the clients of Ovid Wealth Management. As people age, their needs and priorities shift, therefore Ovid Wealth Management helps clients monitor and rebalance their investment strategy. Ovid Wealth Management assists clients in creating portfolios the can include individual stocks and bonds tailored to their individual needs in a tax-efficient manner. "We are more than simple asset allocators. Our core value is stewardship, and we strive for our clients to view us as a long term financial relationship," Fish says. "We want to be the first ones they consult when their lives change."

The client-first approach is not limited to the creation of investment strategies. Fish and his team put a strong emphasis on being promptly responsive when a client reaches out. "We make sure our clients know that we work for them and not the other way around," says Fish. "We take the personal part of our business very seriously, probably just as serious as our performance. We play hard. I think most people sincerely appreciate the fact that I am very available and that our team responds very quickly to them."

Fish has spent more than 30 years in the business, but Fish credits his experienced support team for the success of Ovid Wealth Management. "There is no way I could do what I do without the support I have," he says. "We want our people to take their time on the phone. We do not want them to rush. We want them to ask questions and be engaged in our clients' lives. We sincerely take a holistic approach to our work."

Our Five-Step Process

We employ a five-step investment management process as follows:

Step 1 - Analyze Current Situation

In this step, we ascertain where each client is and has been from an investment standpoint. We strive to understand our client's goals, time horizon, legal constraints, and tolerance for risk. We utilize a number of tools including financial planning questionnaires, current investment portfolio analysis, past returns and their accompanying statistics (standard deviation, up capture and down capture). We would work closely with you to understand your needs, wants, and wishes.

Step 2 - Design an Investment Strategy

Here we crystallize all the input and analysis from Step One into a recommended portfolio. The design of the asset allocation is the most important decision you will make with regard to investing the funds in the portfolio. We strive to ensure that you understand the probability of achieving your goals and the level of risk you will be exposed to in reaching them.

Step 3 - Formalize Investment Policy and Risk Parameters

Next, we outline the roles and responsibilities for each of us. We review our procedures for asset rebalancing, along with the specific and unique target allocations. Rebalancing can be one of the most crucial points in the investment management process.

Step 4 - Implement Investment Strategy

In this step, we will identify appropriate investment vehicles to carry out the investment plan. We have an extensive due diligence process that we utilize to score out recommendations in terms of performance, structure and growth on an ongoing basis.

Step 5 - Monitor and Rebalance as Life Changes

After the investment plan has been implemented, we provide our clients with detailed quarterly performance reports. These reports help our clients not only understand how they have performed versus their goals, but also why.

    Stephen Fish is a Managing Director at UBS. He began his career on Wall Street at Morgan Guaranty Trust Company and Brown Brothers, Harriman & Company. After more than twenty successful years at Hilliard Lyons, Stephen moved to UBS Financial Services, Inc. to further enhance his clients' experiences and access more sophisticated trading capabilities.  Stephen has over thirty years of investment experience in all financial markets and advises his clients through discretionary investment management.

    Stephen is a graduate of The Johns Hopkins University with a B.S. with concentrations in Economics and Philosophy. He also attended the MBA program at the Stern Graduate School of Business at New York University. At Hilliard Lyons he earned the designation Chartered Wealth Advisor (CWA) in 2003, after completing an extensive program concerning various aspects of wealth management. He maintains several Financial Industry Regulatory Authority licenses, including the Series 7, 24, 63 & 65.

        Casey is a Private Wealth Advisor and the cofounder of Executive Wealth Partners (EWP), a UBS Private Wealth Management team. A team that truly understands highly successful families.         Casey brings extensive experience to his current role and has leveraged that in building a strong team. Previously, Casey was a Private Wealth Advisor in Merrill’s Private Wealth Management Division and led Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s Corporate Executive Services Group in New York, NY. Throughout his career, Casey has specialized in advising C-suite public and private company executives, helping them to better manage their concentrated equity exposure.

        Casey was born and raised in Cincinnati and resides here with his family. Casey and his wife love the small city feel of Cincinnati and enjoy cheering for their local sports teams with their two boys. Casey graduated from Denison University with a Major in Economics and a Minor in Chemistry. Casey is grateful to serve on the board of directors for the Urban League of Greater Southwestern Ohio and Denison's Advisory Board to the President.

          Chris joined Executive Wealth Partners (EWP), a UBS Private Wealth Management team, in 2025 to further strengthen and enhance the deep resources available to private wealth clients in the asset and wealth management areas.  He brings twenty years of investment management experience having worked with institutional investors, high-net-worth families and executive consultants at JP Morgan Asset Management since 2005. Chris has held roles in credit research, fixed income trading and for the past eight years as the lead Portfolio Manager for High Yield separately managed accounts (SMAs). In this role, he partnered closely with Financial Advisors to counsel clients on optimal asset allocation strategies across fixed income, equity and private capital markets.  In addition to overseeing asset allocation and implementation, Chris enjoyed working directly with clients, listening to their unique goals and objectives, which he plans to continue at EWP.  

          Passionate about research and ever attentive to constantly evolving macroeconomic conditions, Chris’s insights will help shape client’s planning and investing needs. His experience across market cycles; up’s, down’s and everything in-between, will provide invaluable insights throughout all market environments.

          A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Chris graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics Management and Geography plus a Minor in Accounting.  Chris was honored to serve on the Ohio Wesleyan University Board of Trustees as well as a board member of The Woltemade Center for Economics, Business & Entrepreneurship. He continues to volunteer his time and mentor students as a member of the Board of Directors of Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity and as a coach and Treasurer of his local lacrosse club.  Chris lives in Zionsville, Indiana with his wife, Karrie, and their three boys Griffin, Keegan and Callen.

                Austin began his Wealth Management career with Merrill Lynch in 2017 after shifting his professional focus away from corporate clientele to advising private clients on their family business, their own personal balance sheet. Today, as a lead Financial Advisor and credentialed partner with Executive Wealth Partners, he continues to evolve his knowledge and skills, tailoring them to the sophisticated planning and investment needs of the firm’s most successful clients and their families. He values each opportunity to connect with those clients, understanding what matters to them and the impact they hope to make in the world, while in turn learning about their lives, their businesses and their accomplishments. One of Austin’s favorite focuses is on strengthening current relationships through strategic wealth planning with the next generation in mind—his generation—which makes his insight especially real and relevant.

                Austin received his Bachelor of Arts in Politic Science and a Minor in Business Law from Miami University. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®™ professional and a Certified Private Wealth Advisor®.

                Austin lives in Mt. Lookout in Cincinnati with his wife, Catherine, their son, Leland, and their rescue dog, Aspen. Austin’s personal interests include supporting Cincinnati’s small businesses, exploring the ever-growing local restaurant scene, and appreciating the unique and historic architecture Cincinnati neighborhoods have to offer, especially while out walking the dog.

                  Antonella is the Team Business Manager for Executive Wealth Partners (EWP), a UBS Private Wealth Management team. In this role, Antonella is responsible for supporting our clients in the areas of service, wealth planning, operations and compliance, in addition to the day-to-day administration of the team. 

                  Antonella brings in-depth industry experience, is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER®™ professional and a Certified Private Wealth Advisor®, and holds the FINRA Series 7, 63, 66, 9 and 10. Previously, Antonella was a member of the management team as the Market Client Relationship Manager at Merrill Lynch/Bank of America.

                  Antonella was born in Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and grew up in Bluffton, South Carolina. She resides in Cincinnati with her husband, Will, their two children, Ariella and Trey, and their two dogs, Muñeco and Rylee. Antonella holds a Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude, in Economics and Organizational Management and Minor in Spanish from Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Georgia. She speaks fluent Spanish as well. Antonella is grateful to be a member of the Junior League of Cincinnati and enjoys giving back to her community.

                      Manda began her Wealth Management career with UBS in 2020 after spending time with a marketing firm as a Senior Client Service Manager. In this role, Manda developed strong relationships with top consumer brands. Manda joined Executive Wealth Partners team in 2022 and is currently a Senior Wealth Strategy Associate. Manda is passionate about providing exceptional service while also becoming a trusted partner for her client’s financial needs. Manda holds her Series 7 and 66. 

                      Manda attended the University of Dayton (UD) and was a pitcher on the UD Softball team and served as one of the team captains both her junior and senior year. After graduating from UD, she continued her softball career in Basel, Switzerland where she played with a team for three months.  While abroad in Switzerland, she also traveled to Barcelona, Rome, Florence, Amsterdam, and Helsinki.  Manda loved living in Switzerland and especially loved the chocolate, cheese and hiking in the Alps!

                            Jeanie joined UBS in 1995 as a Client Service Associate and joined Stephen Fish's team in June 2019.  In this role she serves the administrative and operational needs of our clients and team.  Jeanie enjoys getting to know our clients and providing excellent customer service.  She has been in the financial services industry for over 30 years. 

                            Jeanie is a Cincinnati native.  She enjoys gardening and spending time with her grandchildren.

                                  Carter joined Executive Wealth Partners as a Client Service Associate in early 2025. In this role, Carter provides comprehensive support to Private Wealth Advisors in managing ultra-high-net-worth client relationships, including account administration, client service, and operational tasks. Additionally, Carter serves as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a high level of client satisfaction and confidentiality.

                                  Prior to joining UBS, Carter attended the University of Cincinnati where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. In addition to that, Carter was a member of UC’s baseball team and represented the team on the University’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. He is very grateful for his experience as a college athlete and accredits a lot of his growth to the perseverance and grit that it takes to being a high performing Student-Athlete.
