I work with multigenerational families to provide financial strategies and wealth planning solutions designed to help enhance their lifestyle, preserve their legacy and support their objectives. For more than 30 years, I have emphasized the value of detailed planning in collaboration with clients’ other professional advisors to help coordinate all facets of their financial lives. I am committed to making a positive difference for my clients, and I view my role as that of a counselor, helping them make personal and financial decisions across the many stages of their lives.

I began my career in the financial services industry in 1992. After graduating with a B.A. in political science from the University of Rhode Island, I enlisted in the United States Army Reserve and served as a combat medic, earning the Army Commendation Medal. I joined UBS Financial Services in 2012 after 8 years at Morgan Stanley and 12 years at AG Edwards, where I served as a branch manager.

Born and raised in Santa Barbara, I am passionate about preserving and bettering the community. I am a third-generation member of the Rancheros Visitadores, a group dedicated to commemorating the history of horsemanship and ranching in the local area. In addition, I have worked with many nonprofits, serving as a volunteer for Old Spanish Days, president of the Westside Boys & Girls Club, and a current board member of the Family Service Agency and Hearts Therapeutic. Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my three children.

Together with my team, I work with successful individuals and families to help provide long-term planning and solutions for complex financial needs. I help clients build wealth for the future, protect it for the next generation, and create giving strategies for the people and causes that mean so much to them. I am well-positioned with advice and planning that can give clients confidence to pursue their life goals. My focus includes:

•Holistic and personalized financial planning, asset allocation, tax-efficient investment strategies and estate planning
•Pre-liquidity strategic planning and post-liquidity asset management, including concentrated stock strategies
•Retirement planning and sustainable income replacement strategies
•Charitable giving strategies, including donor advised funds, charitable remainder trusts and foundations

I began my career in the financial services industry in 2006 as a business banker with Wells Fargo Bank, transitioning to the wealth management division before joining UBS in 2014. While working full time, I graduated from UC Santa Barbara, majoring in business economics with an accounting emphasis and minoring in sports management. In addition, in 2013 I completed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER professional designation from the CFP board through Northwestern University’s continuing studies program.

A running enthusiast and active member of the Santa Barbara community since 2005, I currently serve on the board for the Santa Barbara Running Association, and I am very involved with the Montecito Trails Foundation and Santa Barbara Triathlon Club. I also enjoy hiking, cycling and playing golf.

                    Traditional or Roth?

For most families, a balance of Traditional and Roth contributions will provide the best results. However, this doesn’t mean that you should contribute to both types of accounts equally. The UBS Chief Investment Office (CIO) provides an overview of Traditional and Roth 401(k) accounts, highlighting key factors that you should consider when deciding where you will direct your hard-earned savings.
