Jonathan Murray is a Managing Director at UBS Financial Services, Inc. in Hunt Valley, Maryland, and the founder of The Murray Group.
He began his investment career in 1989 with Kidder, Peabody and later joined Legg Mason in 1994 as a Vice President, Investments. In 2006, Jonathan transitioned his growing practice to UBS Financial Services, where he continues to provide clients with comprehensive and customized wealth management strategies.
Throughout his career, Jonathan has delivered financial market commentary on WBAL Radio in Baltimore, where he is well known for translating complex market and economic developments into clear, actionable insights. He has also appeared regularly on WBAL TV and has been featured on CNBC, MSNBC, and Fox Business News discussing market trends, economic conditions, and wealth management strategies.
Jonathan is a graduate of Dickinson College, where he began his professional career in admissions and later returned as a trustee. He has lectured at Loyola University Maryland, the University of Maryland, and Johns Hopkins University, and previously served as Director of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Studies. Jonathan remains actively involved with Boys’ Latin School in Baltimore and has the pleasure of working alongside his older son, Palmer, a member of The Murray Group.
With over thirty years of experience in the securities industry, Brian Doak is a Senior Vice President of Wealth Management for The Murray Group. He is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®). Brian’s primary responsibility is to provide long-term investment advice, coupled with comprehensive financial planning guidance for our high net-worth clients.
Brian began his career at T. Rowe Price in 1990, and then spent fourteen years at Legg Mason headquarters in Baltimore, MD. Brian then moved his practice to UBS in 2008 in partnership with Managing Director Jonathan Murray and Senior Vice President Jason Lowy, to form the original iteration of The Murray Group. Brian graduated from Denison University in 1990, where he studied Economics and History.
In his personal life, Brian is active in philanthropy in the greater Baltimore community. Brian currently serves on the Board of Trustees at his alma mater, St. Paul’s School, in Brooklandville, MD. Brian has been a baseball coach for over two decades and currently volunteers as a varsity baseball coach at St. Paul's School. He enjoys teaching the game and its strategy, and he especially embraces being an active mentor in the lives of young people.
Brian has been married to his wife, Wendy, for twenty-eight years, and they have two adult children, Connor and Alice. On weekends, Brian loves sailing on the Chesapeake Bay; and he enjoys books on the topics of military history and leadership.
Jason Lowy is a Managing Director and Senior Partner of The Murray Group at UBS, where he plays a key role in shaping investment strategy, client experience, and the long-term growth of the practice. Since joining the team in 2004, Jason has been instrumental in helping high-net-worth individuals, families, and business owners navigate complex financial decisions with clarity and confidence.
Jason specializes in comprehensive wealth management, including investment strategy, retirement planning, and exit planning for business owners. He works closely with clients to simplify complexity, align portfolios with long-term goals, and create durable, multi-generational financial plans. Known for his ability to “cut through the noise,” Jason helps clients stay focused during periods of market uncertainty by translating economic and market developments into clear, actionable guidance. Jason is passionate about building lasting client relationships and helping families achieve financial independence, preserve wealth, and create meaningful legacies.
Jason holds multiple advanced designations, including CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®), Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®), Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA®), and Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist (CRPS®), reflecting his commitment to delivering sophisticated, planning-based advice. He has been recognized as a member of the UBS Financial Advisor Advisory Committee, a select group of advisors helping shape the direction of UBS.
Jason is active in the community, having served on boards such as The Contemporary Art Museum, Junior Achievement and National Collegiate Cancer Foundation. He also helps coach and mentor young athletes in basketball and lacrosse. He lives with his wife and two sons in Parkton, MD and enjoys spending time with his family!
After learning the value of sound financial habits, Nick aspired to work in the securities industry from an early age and now brings over fifteen years' experience to The Murray Group. Nick started his career at Merrill Lynch in 2005 before joining UBS in 2010. After working as a Financial Advisor at the Baltimore office, he joined The Murray Group in 2015.
Considering not only clients' financial health but also their overall well-being, Nick takes a broad view of financial services. As a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™, he specializes in helping individuals and families transition into retirement by designing income streams to replace their wages.
Nick earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Economics from Loyola University Maryland. He currently lives in Bel Air with his wife, Emily, and their two children, Charlie and Lucy.
Michele has worked in the financial services field for 28 years. Her business focuses on long-term financial planning. She works with her clients to get a complete understanding of their goals, current assets, cash flow, and risk tolerance in order to work together to build an investment strategy that suits their individual needs and comfort level. Her goal is to build strong relationships with her clients based upon trust and a comprehensive understanding of their investment goals and associated risk tolerance. Michele currently resides in Eldersburg, MD with her husband, Andrew, and children Sean and Rachel. She enjoys traveling, hiking, and cooking.
Palmer joined The Murray Group in 2018 after three years with UBS in New York City, where he held roles in National Sales, client service, and ultimately as a Financial Advisor in the Wealth Advice Center. His prior experience ranges from supporting financial advisors nationwide to managing relationships with one of UBS’s largest wealth management teams.
Palmer gains fulfillment in helping people and brings the same level of care to every client, whether guiding a first-time investor, helping business owners sell their business, or helping ultra-high-net-worth families with legacy planning and beyond. He holds the Series 7 and 66 licenses and the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) designation.

Laura Ann Diamond joined The Murray Group at UBS in 2011 after earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Marketing from Towson University. She serves as the Team Administrator and plays a critical role in the team’s operational leadership, supporting both daily execution and long‑term organizational effectiveness. In this role, Laura Ann partners closely with the Financial Advisors and oversees key operational and administrative functions within The Murray Group wealth management practice.
She manages the full client onboarding process, coordinating account opening, documentation, compliance requirements, and custodial workflows to ensure a smooth and efficient client experience. Laura Ann also supports ongoing client relationships through proactive service and precise execution, helping uphold the team’s high standards of professionalism and responsiveness.
In addition to her client-facing responsibilities, Laura Ann oversees key operational functions, including internal processes, workflow coordination, and regulatory support. She serves as a primary liaison between the team, UBS platform resources, and external partners, contributing to streamlined communication and operational efficiency.
Laura Ann holds the FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses. She resides in Timonium, Maryland, with her husband, Jon, and their two sons
Matt joined The Murray Group as a Client Service Associate after fifteen years teaching in and chairing English departments in public and private schools. During his time teaching, Matt's colleagues and students elected him to various leadership positions and advisory roles. Matt helps financial advisors build and modify plans for clients and prospects, and he assists them in managing client relationships.
Matt holds a Series 7 and Series 66 licenses as well as bachelor's and master's degrees in English. He makes his home in Pennsylvania with his wife and sons.
Ben joined The Murray Group in 2020 after serving as the Market Technology Specialist at UBS in Hunt Valley He currently serves as a Senior Wealth Strategy Associate, supporting the advisory team with investment research, portfolio analysis, and the implementation of customized wealth strategies aligned with client objectives and UBS best practices.
In his role, Ben works closely with advisors on investment due diligence, evaluates investment vehicles, and analyzes both client and model portfolios to support disciplined portfolio construction and ongoing strategy execution. He plays an integral role in translating market insights and firm resources into practical investment solutions for clients. Ben holds the FINRA Series 7 and Series 66 licenses.
Ben earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Bucknell University and a Master of Science in Applied Economics from Johns Hopkins University. A former collegiate lacrosse player, he competed at both institutions and served as team captain at Bucknell during his senior year.
Ben resides in Timonium, Maryland, with his wife, Tina, their son, and their dog.
Carly joined UBS Financial Services as a Branch Office Administrator and Market Technology Liaison in 2019. In that role, she assisted Financial Advisors as well as branch and regional managers to provide clients outstanding service. In 2022, Carly relocated to the Hunt Valley, MD branch as an Executive Team Assistant for the Mid Atlantic Market. Working closely with the Market Executive, she onboarded new employees and planned UBS events throughout the Mid-Atlantic. Currently, Carly assists The Murray Group with opening and maintaining accounts, disbursing money, and helping clients access online tools.
Carly graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2018 with a B.S. in Biology. Carly resides in Baltimore City, where she enjoys staying active by playing soccer, swimming, biking and running.
Adam joined UBS as a Client Service Associate in Spring 2022. Prior to that, he spent eight years at Morgan Stanley as a Senior Fixed Income Associate. He currently assists with opening and maintaining accounts, helping clients deposit and disburse monies, and filling other needs as they arise. He holds a Series 7 and 66 FINRA license as well as a Maryland Life and Health Insurance license.
Peyton joined UBS as a Client Associate in September 2025. She is a graduate of St. Paul’s School for Girls and Bucknell University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Economics in 2023.
In her role, Peyton supports clients and advisors by assisting with account opening, paperwork processing, client disbursements, and other day‑to‑day service needs. She also coordinates meeting scheduling and provides administrative support to help ensure an efficient and responsive client experience. Peyton holds the FINRA Series 7 and NASAA Series 66 licenses.
Peyton resides in Mays Chapel, where she enjoys cooking, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her Norwich Terrier, Teddy.
