“The Matina Group is a boutique private wealth management team comprised of accomplished professionals, created in the likeness of the multi-generational clients we advise. Thoughtful advice, customized solutions and a world-class client experience are the foundation of everything we do.”
- Joseph Matina
The Matina Group is a nationally recognized UBS accredited Private Wealth team with offices in Naples, FL, Short Hills, NJ and New York City. Our twelve-person multigenerational team serves families across the country. We have a diverse and broad range of experience with a particular focus in financial planning and investment management, as well as in trust and estate planning strategies for wealthy individuals and families.
We take the time to fully understand our clients’ complex needs and aspirational goals, then leverage our vast experience and resources to create customized solutions. Our clients include business owners, entrepreneurs, senior corporate executives, philanthropic organizations, and multi-generational families. We provide concierge level services and tailor advice that is built on transparent, trusting relationships. We work to create a roadmap for each client and their family’s vision, including retirement, legacy, philanthropic passions, and investment goals.
Our twelve-person multi-generational team takes an approach that focuses on understanding all aspects of our clients’ financial lives including their aspirational goals, core values and long-term objectives with the understanding that every family’s financial picture is unique and best served using a bespoke structure focused on our three core tenets: Liquidity, Longevity and Legacy.

Liquidity, longevity and legacy
Our relationship begins with conversations focused on what is truly important to you. We seek to deeply understand your personal and financial goals and objectives, then work with you to develop a strategy to best manage the components of your wealth to help you feel more confident along the path to achieving your goals.
Our in-depth planning process provides you with a detailed, written financial plan, allowing for real benchmarks to assess your progress. The plan incorporates every aspect of your assets and liabilities, including cash, brokerage accounts, employer retirement plans, real estate and insurance policies, as well as a review of your trust and estate planning documents.
We analyze your risk, asset allocation & location, current and projected savings, and cash flow.
Developing your personal, comprehensive financial plan is the first step towards determining a customized investment strategy designed to help achieve your goals. Your plan will serve as our roadmap, evolving and adjusting to changes in your financial life along the way, as we navigate towards pursuing your goals.
It's what we call "Advice. Beyond Investing."

Customized portfolios
Our firm's open architecture structure allows us to take an unbiased approach to asset management. We seek to uncover the best investment options either internally within UBS or externally from a wide range of providers, that are specifically selected to suit your needs.
Our team takes a planning centric, risk-based approach to asset allocation and investment management. Each client's portfolio is customized and created based on their individual risk tolerance, investment goals and time horizon. We consider asset location to be as important as allocation and take into consideration factors including tax efficiency and optimization.
Portfolios are constructed utilizing a variety of investments including public & private domestic and international equities, fixed income investments, separately managed accounts, alternative investments (both direct opportunities as well as private equity & hedge funds), derivative and option overlay strategies, exchange traded funds, and mutual funds.
Our firm's open architecture structure allows us to select the best solutions for you from a wide range of providers.

Preserving and protecting your legacy
As part of our holistic approach to wealth management, we start with a comprehensive review of your current trust and estate planning documents, in coordination with your financial plan, to provide a comprehensive, detailed analysis. This review may include an estate plan flowchart, hypothetical estate tax calculation, observations and discussion points, as well as wealth transfer strategies and recommendations.
Our team continuously monitors the ever-changing estate tax and planning landscape, keeping you advised of changes, and bringing you actionable insights and ideas. We have extensive experience implementing comprehensive estate planning strategies designed to help you protect and preserve your wealth over multiple generations. Whether you decide to leave your assets to family, or have philanthropic interests, our team is here to help you create a plan to fulfill your legacy goals.

Our process takes you from the initial stages of consideration for your business sale or liquidity event, through the pre-sale planning process, all the way to the transaction's successful close. We work with you, in coordination with your attorney and CPA, to develop a personalized strategy to help you maximize the proceeds of the sale and minimize the tax impact of the transaction, resulting in the best structure for you and your family. We then seamlessly transition to help you manage the post-sale liquidity and pursue your future financial goals.

Financial decision-making is easier when you have the benefit of a trusted source of advice. Our team is here for you with planning-based solutions to help you confidently take charge of your financial world. It's about helping you feel empowered to make important decisions about today’s opportunities and challenges—and tomorrow's.

For more than 160 years, UBS has proven its strength and guided clients through a wide range of market opportunities and financial challenges. Time and again, we’ve been tested and proven resilient, and our clients continue to put their trust in us and our wealth management expertise to help them achieve their goals.
