Michael started his career as a Financial Advisor in 2002 with the belief that a financial planning-based, goals-oriented approach to wealth management was needed. From inception, his business has focused on all aspects of wealth management concerning families and corporate professionals aged 35-65 including insurance/risk management, portfolio performance, retirement and education planning and liabilities management-especially home mortgages. 

Prior to Financial Services, Michael spent 10 successful years in the information technology sector and riding the peaks and valleys of that sector's (1990’s) rollercoaster has left some healthy scars on his outlook towards risk and career planning. As clients consider their peak earning years, competitive employment offers and impact on family and planning efforts, these experiences have proven valuable to Michael and his clients.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Georgetown University and a MBA from Washington University in Saint Louis. He practices an advisory-based business and thus holds himself to the higher-than-industry standard of a fiduciary.

Michael lives in Saint Louis with his wife Katie and four children, ages 14 through 27 who keep him busy in a variety of pursuits including a healthy dose of coaching athletic teams, watching athletic events and driving to/from the practices for said athletic events. He enjoys golf, Cardinals baseball and singing the occasional Neil Diamond song if pressed into service.

Kat joined the Martin Group in 2011 to assist Michael with their growing client base. She is the detail-oriented member of the team and makes sure the investment strategies and financial plans actually come to fruition post client meetings. She also handles all insurance, banking and lending aspects of the relationship to make the process as seamless as possible. Katherine's motivation since she started in financial services is providing the best possible information, advice and solutions for her clients. As part of the Martin Group, she is attuned to every detail of her clients' goals and financial plans.

Kat graduated with honors from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with emphases in Finance and Real Estate. She currently resides in Saint Louis with her husband, Tony and large labrador retriever, Walker Texas Ranger. Kat and Tony welcomed their son into the world in December 2019 and now spend most of the time happily chasing a toddler. She enjoys traveling, exercising, shopping, attending Cardinals baseball games and Missouri Tigers football games and spending time with her family and friends. She is also a professional bridesmaid.

Courtney began her financial services career in 1992 as a Client Sales Associate at another firm in Kansas City. After moving to St. Louis and completing her MBA at St. Louis University, she eventually moved to the bond trading floor as a market analyst with A.G. Edwards. She temporarily “retired” in 2001 to stay at home and raise her two kids. Courtney returned to work in 2014 with UBS Financial Services. She is committed to helping clients manage and protect the nest eggs they have worked a lifetime to build.

Courtney and her husband Bill are the parents of two young adults and are anxiously awaiting the “empty nest” phase, whenever that may happen.  Outside of work, Courtney enjoys exercising, socializing with friends and traveling.  Courtney and her family live in Webster Groves, MO.
