Mariam is the founder of The Adams Group, a financial advisory practice in NYC and part of the Philadelphia DC Wealth Management Market. As a first generation American and the daughter of Afghan and Uzbek immigrants, she understands firsthand the barriers many marginalized communities face in building wealth. Her mission is to bridge this gap by providing financial education, strategic guidance, and wealth-building opportunities to individuals, foundations, and non-profits who have historically been excluded from traditional financial systems.

With a deep commitment to empowering clients, Mariam prioritizes building strong relationships while teaching them how to make their money work smarter. Most of her clients represent or serve marginalized communities, and she's acutely aware of the systemic challenges they encounter. Through personalized strategies, she helps them navigate these obstacles—whether it’s optimizing investments, managing cash flow, or securing funds for growth.

Mariam’s dedication to financial empowerment extends beyond her advisory work. She has been featured in media outlets such as Barron’s and U.S. News and World Report and serves on nonprofit boards that connect marginalized groups to community resources and financial tools. Recently she was named one of NY’s Top 100 LGBTQ+ Power Players by PoliticsNY.

Mariam’s personal and professional journey is driven by the belief that financial literacy is a tool for equity—and she is committed to ensuring those who've been left out of the conversation have a seat at the table.

Prior to UBS, Mariam was a lobbyist, securing financial contracts for reinvestment projects, and later transitioned to wealth management at Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2014.

Mariam has a master’s degree (University of Pennsylvania), and two undergraduate degrees (Northeastern University). She lives in the Hudson Valley with her wife and their two children. She enjoys hiking, running, and at-home karaoke with her family.

Al is an integral member of the Adams Group at UBS Financial Services, excelling in client service, business administration, and operations. His contributions have shaped the team’s service model, earning him recognition as one of the top associates in the country by the Retirement Services Group of America (RSGA).

Al is also a sought-after speaker at industry events, focusing on enhancing client experience and the development and implementation of service models. Before joining UBS in 2024, Al started his career in financial management at Merrill Lynch in 2001, where he served as a liaison to the Director, recruiting candidates for the Advisor Training program. He later collaborated with the Office Management Team on several key initiatives, further honing his expertise in business operations and client service.

Al is a seasoned professional with more than 25 years of industry experience and a degree in Accounting from Baruch College. Al grew up in New York City and currently resides in Orange County, NY, with his wife Aneta and their sons, Jayden and Jacob. He is an active participant in tournament softball, physical fitness, and martial arts training. Al also enjoys traveling with his family, exploring new destinations together.
