Financial Advisor
Jorge became a Financial Advisor at UBS in 2015. Prior to this, he was Co-Head of Consulting, for UBS. In this prior role, his team focused on providing ultra-high net worth clients and their advisors an institutional approach to investments, emphasizing diversification strategies and the use of third-party money management firms. Jorge also coordinated with clients' legal and tax experts to ensure estate and financial plans were designed, implemented and updated for the evolving needs of clients, as well as for market fluctuations and taxation changes. Jorge brings this same emphasis on long-term perspective and comprehensive service into his wealth management practice today.
Since 2014, Jorge has also spent time addressing Puerto Rico's Act 20/22 segment. It is his view that this segment could provide a significant economic and social contribution to Puerto Rico. UBS's global capabilities provide the support needed to create and implement solutions to take advantage of this favorable tax opportunity. It is Jorge's role to identify and approach these resources for the benefit of Act 20/22 clients.
From 2001 to 2009, Jorge served in several roles in the Treasury of a local, commercial bank, and public company on the island. In this role, he served as assistant treasurer and portfolio manager for the bank's $4.5 billion investment portfolio.
