Our knowledgeable perspective, good judgement and broad experience can help you meet your challenges and seize opportunities.

As the founding member of The Hutson Polcaro Group, Charley takes a goals-based approach to financial planning. This highly personalized approach to wealth management Charley has honed over his 40+ year career. Charley develops investment strategies and long-term legacy plans tailored for each individual client.
Upon graduating from Vassar College in 1977, he first worked retail management in New York. Seeking greater career challenges, in 1981 he walked into PaineWebber's Washington, DC office and asked for a job. He completed their new Financial Advisor training program within a year, and has been with the firm ever since. (UBS acquired PaineWebber in 2000.)
Personally, Charley's goals include fostering his love of nature, as a Wildlife Management Park Ranger at Grand Teton National Park. He and his wife of over 40 years and their three children provide support to the Park and associated organizations. Charley is a past President and current board member of Bethesda-Chevy Chase Baseball, and a board member of the Teton Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and Teton Music School. He also actively raises funds for his children's schools, colleges, and universities.
Originally from Vermont, Jim started his financial services career in 2004 with independent advisory firm Pinnacle Financial Corporation, where he helped members of the Vermont Bar Association with their financial planning needs. Jim joined UBS Headquarters in the NYC area in 2006 before moving to Maryland to work as an analyst and later a financial advisor, eventually joining forces with Charley Hutson. Jim is an accredited Portfolio Manager at UBS which enables him to act always in the best interest of his clients.
His extensive experience in the industry enables Jim to deliver quality service. As part of the team's emphasis on service, Jim focuses on personalized investment strategies, financial planning, and insurance needs. He welcomes the opportunity to partner with a client’s estate planning attorney and CPA to ensure the team meets all of their objectives.
Jim is avid outdoorsman and enjoys spending time with his two children, Lilah and Hunter, and his wife Kate. They are always seeking out new adventures.
After moving to Northern Virginia in 2015, Chris began working at Cardinal Bank, where he held several positions, including as a customer service associate on the wealth management team. Cardinal was later acquired by United Bank, where Chris expanded his experience in wealth management before transitioning to UBS in 2018. Chris was drawn to UBS by the full service approach that its advisors take to their clients, and as a wealth planning associate he focused on in depth financial planning for many of the firm’s teams. In 2021, Chris joined Jim and Charley and is looking forward to providing the utmost level of service to the team’s clients.
Originally from the Boston area, Chris lives in Northern Virginia with his wife, Ellen. When not in the office, you can find Chris at the golf course or experimenting with new recipes. Chris’s lifelong passion for baseball led him to play at the college level at Johns Hopkins University and he now coaches for a local team in DC.
With a degree in retail management from Penn State, a previous career managing an upscale boutique and experience in cemetery administration, Kimberly French has a particular knack for helping clients—at their most fashionable moments and at their most fragile. Couple that with her near 30-year history at UBS—15 of which was spent as the lead administrator for the entire Bethesda branch—and Kimberly has the wherewithal to tackle any client need, question or issue that comes her way. Moreover, her passion for working with people from all walks of life shines through in each client conversation.
Adept at keeping her team on task and working efficiently in the office, Kimberly manages to do the same at home in Frederick, MD. When she's not with her husband, children and grandchildren, she can be found riding her horse, Crunchy, or honing her photography skills.
