Tim is a founding member of The Cornerstone Group at UBS Financial Services, Inc. Tim is originally from Green Bay, Wisconsin, (yes, he is an avid Packer fan). Tim graduated from the Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan with a BBA in Accounting & Finance.
Tim served his country as a member of the United States Army. He was a member of the XVIII Airborne Corps. He earned an Army ROTC Scholarship and became a commissioned officer. His business career began with Cooper’s & Lybrand (now Price Waterhouse Coopers) as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). He began his career in financial services with The Robinson Humphrey Company (now Morgan Stanley) and built The Cornerstone Group to provide advisory services to pension plans and private wealth management to families.
Tim is a Certified Private Wealth Advisor CPWA® and Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS®). He also earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation through the Center for Fiduciary Studies.
As a recognized industry leader, he's frequently asked to speak at various events, providing his unique perspective on how individuals can create a fulfilling roadmap for their financial future.
Tim has devoted his time and efforts in charitable organizations in the area including Busy Street Children’s Museum, Farmer FoodShare, Habitat for Humanity, and the Food Bank of North Carolina.
He lives in Durham, NC and has two daughters, Marisa and Alexandra.

Mark Harbaugh is a seasoned Financial Advisor who has been helping clients achieve their financial goals for over 40 years. He takes great pride in his role as a Financial Advisor and his greatest joy is developing long standing relationships with his clients. His low-key style, integrity and caring demeanor help clients feel comfortable as they explore their financial goals and needs. He can explain complex investments in a manner that is easy to understand.
The foundations of his successful career have been his knowledge and ability to comprehend how to create optimal financial solutions for his clients. Mark works closely with individual and corporate clients to develop long-term investment plans tailored to their specific needs and circumstances. His extensive experience investing in stocks and bonds and his keen eye for current financial matters allows him to see the markets as a puzzle and he monitors the pieces that change every day. He is always reading and looking to learn how the world is evolving and critically evaluate that information to apply to different investment themes.
Mark's resume includes his start in the financial industry at Smith Barney in the early 1980’s. He then continued his career at Paine Webber (which is now UBS Financial Services) in the mid-1990’s and never looked back. His team joined forces in 2022 to expand to 9 people which now forms the Cornerstone Group.
Mark Harbaugh is a Senior Vice President with UBS Wealth Management where he focuses on tax efficient investment and planning strategies. Mark began his career as a consultant at Navigant Consulting in Washington, D.C. and New York City. He uses his consulting background, internal UBS network and external relationships to deliver complex solutions in a simplified manner. Mark strives to meet and exceed expectations while making himself constantly available to help whenever advice or guidance is needed.
Mark has a BS in Finance from Wake Forest University. He and his wife, Molly, have two children, Annie and Eliza. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, running and cooking with his daughters.
Jenn joined UBS in 2009, having started her career at Smith Barney in 2000. A native New Yorker, Jenn earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College and her Master's from Springfield College. She received her Executive Certificate in Certified Financial Planning through the course of study at Duke University, passing the comprehensive exam and obtaining her CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation. Jenn holds Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses, life insurance, variable annuity, and long-term care insurance licenses. When not helping her clients with their financial plans, Jenn enjoys spending time with her sons who’ve followed in her wake as budding athletes. Jenn has always enjoyed water sports and competitive sports, particularly baseball, from her beginnings on the t-ball field to her playing days on the Ithaca College Softball team. Jenn also volunteers actively across her community, having served two terms as a member of the board of The Volunteer Center of Durham, and three years on the board of directors of The YMCA of the Triangle. She is married and has two boys, Levi (2008) and Ace (2010).

Steve joined The Cornerstone Group at UBS in 2015, bringing 14 years of experience to the team. He began his financial services career in 2001 as a licensed banker with First Union, and through corporate mergers, became a Financial Advisor with Wachovia Securities, later Wells Fargo Advisors, in 2008. Steve received his Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ (CRPC®) designation in 2009, exhibiting his abilities in all facets of financial well being.
A native of Canton, IL., Steve received his B.S. in History from Bradley University. During his studies at Bradley, he also spent a semester abroad at Stockholm University in Stockholm Sweden. Steve and his wife, Shelby, moved to Durham in late 2000 when Shelby accepted a position in the School of Medicine at Duke University, a position which she still holds. Steve and Shelby are the parents of Olivia (2002) and Nicklaus (2005).
Bret joined The Cornerstone Group at UBS in 2020 with over 10 years experience working at UBS Financial Services, Inc. in multiple capacities. He is based in Wilmington, NC where he has previously partnered with The Cornerstone Group for most of the last decade in the defined contribution space. Bret is also a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor℠ using his knowledge to assist clients with retirement planning.
Before joining UBS, Bret graduated from NC State with a BS in Biology and spent time in the pharmaceutical sector. In 2006 he moved to NYC to eventually manage the then highest producing Marc Jacobs retail store in the world. Bret and his wife Dr. Yulia Paterson D.D.S. moved back to Wilmington in 2011 where he started his career with UBS and a family. Bret has three children, Zalen, Nesta, and Misha. When not at the office, he plays violin and spends time outdoors with his family and dogs going boating, fishing, travelling and all types of boarding.
Valerie Rosaly is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ who has devoted her career to helping individuals, couples and business owners align their finances with what really matters to them. She learned early on that helping clients achieve their best outcome starts with a personalized financial plan that focuses on their needs and wants. Valerie jointed UBS in 2008 and has nearly 25 years of experience helping people find answers to their financial questions, set priorities and help map out a plan to achieve their life’s goals.

Heather joined The Cornerstone Group at UBS in 2018 and has been in the financial services industry since 2014. She currently holds the Series 7, 63, and 65 securities licenses, as well as life and long-term care insurance licenses, and is a NC Notary Public. Heather manages all aspects of the teams operations including initial data gathering, onboarding all new clients and associated document preparation, asset transfers, and making sure the transition to UBS is seamless. She also works directly with clients handling all of their administrative needs such as online enrollment and e-delivery, money transfers, and appointment scheduling. Heather enjoys building one-on-one relationships with clients and strives to provide them with the best customer experience possible. Clients have stated that they can always count on a cheerful voice on the other end of the phone when speaking to Heather.
When not at work, Heather enjoys spending time at the beach or lake with her son Asher (2017). She also enjoys traveling, baking, and photography.
Linda manages the group's wealth management operations and handles daily client requests. She is a dedicated relationship builder and is committed to creating an exceptional experience for each client. Linda has extensive knowledge of UBS Financial Services, Inc. policies, procedures and technology capabilities. Prior to joining UBS Financial Services, Inc. in 2012, Linda worked at several prominent financial services firms as a Private Banker and has over 20 years of experience in Wealth Management. She currently holds the Series 7 and 63 securities licenses, as well as life insurance licenses. Linda attended Montclair State University where she studied Vocal Music Elementary Education.
When not at the office Linda enjoys traveling, the beach, singing karaoke, and performing the National Anthem at local events and minor league baseball games.
