For Les, there’s nothing more important than helping his clients – sophisticated families who take a multigenerational view on wealth planning – navigate their complex financial lives to achieve better outcomes. By accessing the firm’s extensive resources, as well as working closely with clients’ trust and estate attorneys and CPAs, Les creatively crafts asset allocation solutions with tax efficiency. In a constantly changing world, he hopes clients can feel confident about their decisions and the legacies they’re building.
Outside of work, Les has served in a number community leadership roles. He was treasurer and finance committee for the Courage Kenny Foundation (2013 – 2019); treasurer, investment committee chair, and Foundation board chair for the Courage Foundation (2005 – 2013); a member of the United States Ski Association (USSA) Region 1 Board (2015 – 2017); a member of the Team Gilboa Board (2015 – 2017); and a member of the Edina Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) Board.
A proud native and resident of the Twin Cities in Minnesota, Les enjoys spending time with his family and friends at their mountain home in Wyoming. He loves anything outdoors, including yoga, hiking, cycling, alpine, and Nordic skiing, and he is especially passionate about supporting his wife, Theresa, who teaches English to immigrants in Jackson, Wyoming, via Central Wyoming College. Theresa is also a tutor for Paper Airplanes, an organization that provides free language and skills instruction to individuals affected by conflict, and she is a board member for Coombs Outdoors, a team that empowers local youth to grow and thrive through outdoor recreation.
Thomas joined Composition Group in 2022 after enjoying a nearly 20-year career launching, building, and advising startups across different sectors, including sports and entertainment, technology, and healthcare. He serves effectively as the team's entrepreneur-in-residence, helping clients to explore alternative investments, plan new business ventures, evaluate career opportunities, and more.
Prior to joining Composition Group, Thomas was the Executive Vice President of Insights for Elevate Sports Ventures, a sales and strategy consulting firm founded in 2018 by four joint venture partners - the San Francisco 49ers, Ticketmaster & Live Nation, Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment (owners of the Philadelphia 76ers and New Jersey Devils), and Oak View Group (owners of UBS Arena and Climate Pledge Arena, among others). A founding team member with Elevate, Thomas had the privilege of serving some of the most influential leaders in the NFL, MLB, NBA, NHL, Formula 1, golf, tennis, and horse-racing.
Thomas currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee, with his wife Betsy, a healthcare executive, and two daughters Sally (8) and Maggie (6). Outside of work, Thomas serves as a Sunday School shepherd at his church, a parent board member at his girls' elementary school, and a rec soccer coach. He is also an active supporter of the Nashville youth ice hockey community, having previously served as the head coach for the Vanderbilt University (2010-17) and Father Ryan High School (2017-20) ice hockey teams. He holds degrees from Vanderbilt University (MBA) and Cornell University (BS).
Brittany Schroeder Miller believes wealth management at its core is the process for helping people achieve their goals. As a Senior Wealth Strategy Associate for Composition Group, the process starts with the client to understand and identify their financial and life goals. We then work with our UBS estate planning and investment teams to build a financial plan combined with a tax and estate planning overlay that achieves those objectives.
In addition to her financial planning focus on the team, Brittany handles daily client-related activities, including account opening, account maintenance, banking services, and cash flow management. She also coordinates with attorneys, CPAs, and resources within UBS Financial Services Inc. to help clients implement tax and estate planning strategies.
Brittany is a veteran leader at UBS, having served as a member of the Client Service Associate (CSA) Advisory Council for the firm’s Central Division (2017 – 2018) and a CSA coach (2013 – 2019).
A resident of Hudson, Wisconsin, Brittany enjoys boating, traveling, golfing, and cooking with her husband Jordan, an account executive in the software industry, along with her son Everett (2) and dog Brooks – the cutest little boy and “goodest” of all good boys, respectively.
As the Team Administrator for Composition Group, Kate helps oversee internal operations, business growth, and relationship management. She works closely with each client’s team of advisors, including attorneys and accountants (to name a few), to provide a coordinated approach to financial planning.
Kate has served in different wealth management roles for more than ten years. Prior to joining UBS Private Wealth in 2020, she worked with a private wealth team at Goldman Sachs. A graduate of the University of Richmond where she studied psychology, Kate now resides in Easton, Maryland, with her husband Gaines. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and playing with her cats Marlow, Slim Charles, and McNulty.
