Senior Vice President–Wealth Management
Chip is proud to lead The Donovan Financial Group in its goal of providing genuine, client-focused advice & customized investment management. He believes that every individual, couple, family, business, and situation is inherently different, and therefore demands specialized attention to ensure each and every client goal, need, want, wish & expectation are communicated, discussed, and met. Chip's philosophy behind his business is one he takes incredibly serious. Not only because he feels this is the right thing to do for the right reasons, but also because it is how he was raised and how he was taught about life & business.
Joining UBS as a Financial Advisor in 2006, Chip came into the business at a very tumultuous time. He joined his Father, Chuck Donovan, who was in his 33rd year of running an incredible business. Chuck's reputation in the industry was only surpassed by his presence in the local community; at every turn doing anything in his power to improve and support the local area. Chuck & Chip worked side-by-side, providing advice and support throughout the Financial Crisis of 2008. The learning experience was invaluable for Chip, being able to observe, discuss, and manage the business alongside his Father during one of the most volatile & scary times in our recent history. In early 2009, Chuck was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. After fighting with all he had, Chuck sadly lost his battle in October that same year.
Chip stepped into his role at the head of The Donovan Financial Group at 25, and to this day he still hears the advice and teachings of his Dad. Chip still lives by the principles on which his Father built the business: clients come first, educate everyone as often as possible, empower those around you to be successful, do the right thing for the right reasons, give back often, and above all protect trust, as it takes a lifetime to build, and seconds to lose.

Immediately following the completion of his undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College, John entered the financial services industry. For the first 7 years of his career, John advised clients from multiple retail bank locations of M&T Bank in York, Pennsylvania on high level cash management & investment strategies, operating under their Investment Group: M&T Securities. John's success in advising a high volume of clients across multiple physical locations sharpened his management, organizational & communication skills. The setting also enabled him to obtain a broad knowledge base of cash management, lending, insurance, banking & securities strategies, which provided him with a unique perspective of the cross-sectional strategic planning capabilities by utilizing detailed daily cash management, debt structuring, insurance protection and advanced investing techniques. Drawing from this vast knowledge base and constantly contacting his clients yielded strong, personal client relationships that enabled him to impart real, impactful change in his clients' lives by helping them plan for both the present and the future.
In 2013, John brought this immense skill set to join Chip & UBS, and has not missed a beat since. John quickly became an integral part of both The Donovan Financial Group and our clients' lives.
