Jonathan “Jock” Danforth started his career in the financial services industry in 1986 at Merrill Lynch where he stayed until 2000 when he was recruited to join UBS.
Born in Buenos Aires Argentina, he grew up in Fairfield CT and in Wilmington DE, as one of five siblings. He graduated Cum Laude from Westminster School in Simsbury Connecticut and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science degree in Geology, from Saint Lawrence University in Canton NY.
His love for geology brought him to Denver, and Alaska - above the Arctic Circle and then the open ocean on a few different ships off the East coast of the United States during his stint as a geologist.
Jock’s love for the ocean found him earning his 100-ton US Coast Guard captain’s license where he continues to enjoy time on the water in the warmer months with family and friends and doing occasional fishing charters.
Being a Captain; Jock understands risk and the art of protecting his passengers on their journey, thus, thoughtful planning and protection have been a theme for the Danforth team for 3 decades and now spanning 2 generations as his son William has been in the business for 6 years, and recently joined Danforth Wealth Management from Fidelity.
Jock currently serves on the investment committee for Old North church; he served as president of Maddie’s Anglers Club and is a former Co-chair of the Eastern Yacht Club Race Committee. He was also the President of the Marblehead/Swampscott Youth Lacrosse League. Jock's other community involvement also includes supporting the ALS therapy development Institute and being a supporter of Pete Frates’ Team Freight Train, a hero and friend of the family.
Jock is an avid skier and water sports enthusiast; he met his wife Amy in Denver and they have lived in Marblehead Massachusetts since 1990. They have two other adult children, Kate, and Maggie, and all three live in the Boston area. Will is recently married and living in Charlestown.
Will began his career in financial services in 2014 with Fidelity Investments after graduating from the College of Charleston with a major in Business Administration. He joined UBS as a Vice President in 2019 for the Danforth Wealth Management group. While at Fidelity, he was a financial advisor supporting over 300 households in the Boston Back Bay office.
Will attended high school in Connecticut, at Westminster School. He played lacrosse, squash, and paddle tennis while attending. In his time spent outside of the office, one can find Will on his fishing boat targeting Bluefin tuna and Striped Bass. Will is a former US Coast Guard licensed captain, and spent his Summer's in college running a kids fishing camp out of Marblehead, MA. When not fishing, you can find Will out on the golf course at the local club, meddling in mediocrity and the elusive lower handicap. In the winter months, Will spends his time in the mountains skiing, with a personal favorite of Jackson Hole. Will currently lives in Marblehead with his wife Madeline. They have a Golden Retriever named Tuna that is in-tow for all activities. Will and Madeline are expecting their first child, a baby girl in May.
Will is FINRA registered and holds a Series 7, 63, 66, and is currently licensed in 22 states. In 2018, Will earned his designation as a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®).

What’s really important to you—today and for the long term? UBS Wealth Way starts with questions and discussions that can help you organize your financial life into three key dimensions: Liquidity—to help provide cash flow for short-term expenses, Longevity—for longer-term needs and Legacy—for needs that go beyond your own.
UBS Wealth Way is an approach incorporating Liquidity. Longevity. Legacy. strategies that UBS Financial Services Inc. and our Financial Advisors can use to assist clients in exploring and pursuing their wealth management needs and goals over different time frames. This approach is not a promise or guarantee that wealth, or any financial results, can or will be achieved. All investments involve the risk of loss, including the risk of loss of the entire investment. Time frames may vary. Strategies are subject to individual client goals, objectives and suitability.
A lot has changed since President Trump took office. His administration has initiated policy changes and markets have reacted. The Chief Investment Office (CIO) anticipates further volatility amid tariff concerns but continues to expect gains for the S&P 500 by year-end. A solid US economy and healthy corporate earnings growth should support the rally.
