Many of Steve’s client families have been working with him for 3 decades across 4 generations. He accompanies them through life helping to accomplish their greatest priorities and deepest aspirations. His favorite aspect of being an advisor is helping guide clients through challenging times by providing customized recommendations based on each client’s situation.
He considers this profession to be a craftwork with a deep purpose. Steve believes that, “Clients have entrusted us with the financial results of their life’s work, with their goals and the achievement of their family’s highest priorities. And we are privileged to honor those commitments.”
Steve joined UBS in 2001 after starting his career at Morgan Stanley in 1994. He, alongside team member George Menham, established and built the Cleveland Branch of Morgan Stanley. The focus of his practice is to assist families and business owners; tailoring their financial resources to achieve specific objectives.
Prior to the financial services industry, Steve was involved in several startup healthcare/technology companies. He is active in his community, serving on the Board of Directors of WTCI-PBS as well as his local church in various ministries. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He enjoys traveling with his family, reading, and going on fishing trips with his dad. He is married to Sharlee and they have 3 adult children and a new grandson, Peter.

Shane believes that financial success comes from aligning personal goals with financial ones. He works closely with clients to translate their goals into easily understood financial solutions. As an advisor, Shane’s goal is to provide ample time to answer all questions clients may have and is strives to be available when situations arise. He enjoys being part of a closely knit team comprised of individuals with a well-balanced collection of specialties that help enable clients to achieve their financial goals.
Shane began his career as a financial advisor with Wells Fargo Advisors in 2007. While there he obtained the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and Certified Financial Planner designations. In 2011, he moved his practice to the CORE Wealth Management team at UBS.
A graduate in Christian Ministries from Lee University, Shane’s life centers around his family and faith. He resides in Ooltewah, Tennessee with his wife Ansley, their two children, a golden-doodle named Max and a rescue cat. His wife is a harpist, his daughter, Reagan, loves gymnastics and learning ventriloquism, and his son, Grant, loves basketball and Spiderman.

George often builds lifelong bonds with clients by establishing trust while guiding them through their financial journey. He works closely with them to formulate realistic goals and expectations. George strives for his clients to see their financial life in a clear, understandable and integrated way, across all stages of their financial lifecycle.
George’s experience as a financial advisor started in 1994 with Morgan Stanley in their Chattanooga office. George along with one of his current team members, Steve Gatlin, opened and supervised a branch office for Morgan Stanley in Cleveland, Tennessee. In 2005, he moved his practice to UBS Financial Services where he became part of the CORE Wealth Management team which serves individuals, foundations, and corporations.
George resides in Chattanooga, with his wife, Maury, and their four children – Hagan, Charlie, Maggie and Will. As an outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys hunting and fishing.

Client Associate
Emily joined the Core Wealth Management team as a Client Service Associate in March of 2022. She has a special talent for grasping minute details and maintaining client confidence while assisting individuals and families with a diverse range of private financial matters.
Prior to joining UBS, she worked as a paralegal honing her skills in drafting documents and managing client relationships. Emily graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2020. This background helps her protect clients from fraud in an era of prevalent financial scams.
Emily grew up in the UBS Chattanooga Branch and remembers helping her mom study for the Series 7 and 66 exams. Away from work, you can find Emily on the bleachers of a ballfield cheering for her nieces and nephews or reading with her beloved chocolate lab Willow.
