You could say that financial services are in Carol's blood. Her maternal grandmother and Father taught her the fundamentals of navigating finance and the impact of economic and world events on the markets in both good and difficult economies.  It was only natural that Carol would pursue a career in financial services herself.

As a passionate competitor and "people person" who enjoys a challenge, Carol has a history of success in a dynamic industry filled with opportunities for women. Carol has earned the CEPA® and Wealth Advisor designations and with nearly 40 years of experience as a Financial Advisor, and having served previously as an Assistant Branch Manager, Carol joined UBS in 2013 as a Senior Vice President—Wealth Management.

Over three decades of discretionary portfolio management, Carol focuses her comprehensive practice on retirement and generational planning, life insurance and estate preservation and asset protection using long-term care insurance. Her own experience with the rising costs of elder care gives her valuable insight into the financial realities many will face but are often unprepared to tackle.

Outside of work, Carol serves on a number of different charitable boards, including an eight-year term for the Ronald McDonald House Charities during their expansion phase from one to three facilities in San Antonio. She served on the board of the Friends of the McNay Art Museum and currently participates in the Battle of Flowers Women’s organization, which celebrates the rich heritage of Texas.

Carol graduated from Southern Methodist University with a BA in Ibero-American studies and mathematics. She, her husband and their daughter enjoy living in San Antonio where they are active, dedicated community members.

Tariffs dominate the headlines, but innovation shapes the future

The US government’s tariffs are dominating headlines. It remains unclear how severely the recently announced tariffs will impact Switzerland. At the same time, equities have reached new all-time highs. However, risks have not yet been eliminated, and investors should expect market volatility in the near future. This volatility could be mitigated with a diversified portfolio. While President Trump may command the headlines, we believe the future belongs to transformative innovations, such as artificial intelligence. We see any potential setback in equity markets as an opportunity to increase exposure to companies that are leaders in these innovations.

Will the threat to Fed independence harm markets?

US President Trump has repeatedly criticized the Federal Reserve for taking too long to cut rates, raising concerns about Fed independence. A direct challenge to Fed autonomy could add to the risk premium on US Treasuries and undermine confidence in the US dollar. But our view is that the president is unlikely to take this risk. We expect Fed policy to be guided primarily by labor market and inflation data, leading to around 100 basis points of easing by June 2026.
