In 1982 Peter began his work in finance as an intern for a managing director at Bear Stearns and Co. What was intended to be a one-month job during his sophomore winter session break at college has evolved into a thirty five year career as a financial advisor.
Over these thirty plus years Peter has seen a lot events impact the financial markets from the crash in 1987, to the 9/11 attacks, to the tech bubble bust in the late 90's, to the lost decade of the 2000's, to recessions, inflation, political scandals, and near collapse of all of Wall St in 2008 recession. The technology has changed, firms have come and gone, clients are better informed, and the one constant Peter recognizes amidst all this change is a client's yearning to be advised by someone who doesn't just know things, but by someone who knows them.
At the Buckley/Williams Group, Peter and his longtime business partner Joe Williams serve their clients by providing advice. They provide this advice in three main areas: how to protect wealth, how to provide a predictable source of income, and how to pass wealth on to loved ones.
Peter believes his clients have already created their wealth; his job is to protect that wealth and grow it in accordance to his client's unique circumstances and needs. A client's needs, unique circumstances, goals, and desires are all made clear in a well written and comprehensive financial plan.
While we live in and deal in a world of numbers Peter knows he succeeds when his clients are able to retire on their terms and sleep well at night.
Equally dedicated to family and community as he is to his clients, Peter and his wife, Emilia, have been married for 28 years and have been blessed with 6 children and 2 grandchildren. After coaching youth sports for several years, Peter has turned his volunteer focus to education. He is an active parent volunteer at both The Roxbury Latin School and The Montrose School. He is an enthusiastic parent supporter at the University of Notre Dame. He is a devoted parent alumni supporter of The University of Virginia and the United States Naval Academy. Additionally, Peter serves on a national board for Take Back Our Republic, an organization dedicated to a bipartisan solution for campaign financing. He has also volunteers and participates in fundraising efforts for the Brain Aneurysm Foundation.
