Experience

Anita is a graduate of Regis College; with a concentration in Economics and Political Science. Upon graduation, she joined the investment industry in 1978 at Blyth Eastman Dillon, who was succeeded as PaineWebber, and later joined Shearson Lehman Brothers and continued in its successor firms. At Salomon Smith Barney, Anita was Vice President and Senior Consultant, and was an integral part of the firm’s Consulting Group Institutional Services Division, serving as consultant to $5 billion in public and private funds.

In 2000, Anita rejoined PaineWebber, now as UBS. She has built a very successful team, joining her partner, Jorge Rodriguez, to form Brennan Rodriguez Wealth Management. Importantly, some of Anita’s clients go all the way back to the start of her career, relationships of over 40 years, exemplary of the bonds she creates with clients.

During her 40+ years career, Anita has consistently proven to be a leader in the industry, reaching levels and receiving accolades as a woman leader in Puerto Rico. Amongst those, she was a Founding Member of the PR Investment Management Society. Also, Anita was the first woman in UBS’s 50+ years history in PR to be named a member of the prestigious Chairman’s Club.

Anita has always been active with various charitable organizations and boards; having served as President of Hogar Santa María de Los Angeles (who provide support services to teenage, unwed expectant mothers) and as Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Puerto Rico Corporation for Public Broadcasting (WIPR); serving in its executive committee.

Currently, she is a member of the Board of Trustees of Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts, serving in its finance and investment committees.  She has also been a  member of the Board of Directors of United Way of Puerto Rico.

Anita lives in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, but also spends time in Boston, visiting her daughter, son-in-law, and three grandchildren. 

For over 26 years, I have guided institutions and individual clients through varying market conditions. I joined UBS in 2009 after roles at Oriental Group and the Government Development Bank for Puerto Rico, gaining valuable risk management experience for wealth management. As Treasurer of Oriental’s International Bank and a member of its Assets and Liabilities Committee during the Financial Crisis, I developed a solid framework for client solutions. In 2015, Anita Brennan and I established the Brennan Rodriguez Wealth Management team, where we focus on educating high net worth clients about opportunities and effective risk management.

Outside work, I value time with my family, my wife Margari and our children Jorge Luis and Juliana, and enjoy endurance sports, racket games like beach tennis and pickleball, and competitive golf.

Magda began her carrier at UBS in 1999, working for PaineWebber as a Client Service Associate. She advanced to the role of Investment Associate in 2002, and in 2019 she joined Brennan Rodriguez Wealth Management as a Wealth Management Associate.

As Team Administrator, Magda plays an essential role in Brennan Rodriguez Wealth Management’s ongoing success. She possesses a strong understanding of clients’ needs within private wealth management and contributes extensive experience and expertise in financial services and products. Her responsibilities include overseeing trading and allocation implementation, ranging from straightforward to complex executions. Additionally, she supports Anita and Jorge in identifying solutions that enhance our clients’ financial plans.

Magda holds a B.A. in Hotel & Restaurant Administration from University of Puerto Rico and a Master’s Degree in Finance. Holds Series 7, and 63 securities registrations as well as licenses for life insurance and variable annuities.

Residing in San Juan with her husband José and son Xavier, Magda enjoys painting, spending time at the beach, and attending soccer games during her leisure hours.
