Mariam is the founder of the Adams Group - based in New York City and part of the firm’s Philadelphia DC Wealth Management Market. She’s dedicated to helping people of all backgrounds navigate through life’s biggest transitions. Be it starting a family, divorcing a spouse, changing careers, Mariam’s goal is to make life easier for clients.

Mariam is unique in that she prioritizes building meaningful relationships with her clients first, while providing top-tier guidance to help people achieve their financial goals. Most of her clients  represent marginalized groups, and their allies. She is keenly aware of the unique financial challenges these communities face and works with her clients to navigate through them.

Mariam has been long dedicated to serving the LGBTQ+ community in both a personal and professional capacity. In 2022, she was named one of NY’s Top 100 LGBTQ+ Power Players by PoliticsNY. She has been featured in various news media outlets, including Barron’s and U.S. News and World Report.

Mariam serves on the New Paltz Pride Coalition board, connecting local LGBTQ+ individuals to community resources and support. She has served as Board Treasurer for Ali Forney Center, the nation’s largest organization dedicated to homeless LGBTQ+ youth. She also served on the Board of Advisors for the Gender and Family Project (GFP), which provides gender inclusive and affirmative resources to gender non-conforming youth.

Prior to joining UBS in 2024, she began her career as a lobbyist where she worked on securing financial contracts for reinvestment projects before joining Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2014. Mariam has a Master’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania, and two undergraduate degrees from Northeastern University.

Mariam grew up in NJ and is a first generation American -- the daughter of Afghan/Uzbek immigrants. She lives in New Paltz with her wife Rena and their two daughters. She enjoys hiking, running, and at-home karaoke with her kids.

Al is an integral member of the Adams Group at UBS Financial Services, excelling in client service, business administration, and operations. His contributions have shaped the team’s service model, earning him recognition as one of the top associates in the country by the Retirement Services Group of America (RSGA).

Al is also a sought-after speaker at industry events, focusing on enhancing client experience and the development and implementation of service models. Before joining UBS in 2024, Al started his career in financial management at Merrill Lynch in 2001, where he served as a liaison to the Director, recruiting candidates for the Advisor Training program. He later collaborated with the Office Management Team on several key initiatives, further honing his expertise in business operations and client service.

Al is a seasoned professional with more than 25 years of industry experience and a degree in Accounting from Baruch College. Al grew up in New York City and currently resides in Orange County, NY, with his wife Aneta and their sons, Jayden and Jacob. He is an active participant in tournament softball, physical fitness, and martial arts training. Al also enjoys traveling with his family, exploring new destinations together.
