Rick began his career when the Dow Jones Index was at 776 and the inflation rate was in the double digits—and over the past 40 years he has helped clients manage their wealth throughout good times and bad. With over 20 years at UBS, Rick attributes much of his success to the fact that he is passionate about serving the wealth management and financial planning needs for multi-generational families.
Rick provides his clients, who are primarily high net worth individuals, corporate executives, and foundations, with customized financial solutions and exceptional service. His experience includes advising his clients on wealth planning strategies such as retirement planning, charitable giving strategies, and wealth transfer.
Rick obtained his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas – Little Rock, where he was a scholarship swimmer and water polo player. He earned the Chartered Retirement Plans Specialist designation from the College for Financial Planning and has the title of Retirement Plan Consultant. He is a Senior Portfolio Manager in the UBS Portfolio Management Program. His securities licenses include the series 3, 7, 8, 52 and 66, and he has his license for Life and Health Insurance. His experience also includes serving as the Branch Manager for UBS/PaineWebber and Piper Jaffray for 6 years.
Rick previously served on the Board of Directors for the Boulder County Farmers Market and the YMCA of Boulder Valley and supports many other charitable organizations in the community. He and his wife, Diana, have one daughter and two grandchildren and have lived in Boulder for 34 years. Outside the office, he enjoys traveling, biking, hiking, skiing, walking his dog and spending time with his grandchildren.

Janae helps our high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals and families with complex financial planning and investment strategies. At the forefront of her planning strategy, Janae believes that each family is unique, and thus each plan is meticulously crafted based on the goals, hopes and dreams of each client to help them create a lasting legacy. Janae is also passionate about coming alongside women though transitions in their life. Whether it's marriage, divorce, raising children, caring for aging parents, retiring, preparing for longevity, or navigating the loss of a loved one, Janae understands the unique challenges women face. For all her clients, she brings compassion and creativity to develop solutions though a systematic, process driven approach.
Janae received her BA in Economics from the University of Chicago in 2006 where she was captain of the varsity basketball team. After college, she went on to work at Credit Suisse in Fixed Income Sales in Chicago, working with an institutional client base that included several Fortune 500 companies. She analyzed bonds, proposed trade ideas and executed trades for money managers, insurance companies and hedge funds. Since the average trade size was $15 million per trade, her attention to detail was especially important.
After careful thought, she decided to join UBS in Global Wealth Management with a focus in financial planning. Merging her desire to help people with her investment expertise, it has been a natural fit for her. As a lifelong learner, she earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification which is the standard of excellence in financial planning. She has developed and implemented financial plans for business owners, real estate developers, entrepreneurs, executives, investors, families, and individuals. Though Wealth Management is complex, Janae uses her teaching background to deliver information in a way that is understandable.

Senior Client Associate
Shelley began her career in the financial services industry with A.G. Edwards over 16 years ago. She holds Series 7 and Series 66 Licenses which allow her to assist clients with market transactions. While working at Morgan Stanley she served as CSA Coach for the Tristate Region and was an integral member of the Transition Team where she aided multiple advisory groups in high stress situations by providing administrative and operational support. Before returning to UBS in 2020 she also assisted in the establishment of an independent Registered Investment Advisory Firm as an Operations Manager. She is a veteran of the Armed Forces and spent the majority of her tour with the 10th Mountain Division located in upstate New York. She is married with four adult children and enjoys traveling, hiking, snowboarding and riding her motorcycle.
